jimfromcov
I've played quite a lot of fallout 4, almost all with my xbox 360 controller, and have never had this issue before, but all of a sudden it has started registering selections twice. This happens on all buttons (inc. analogue sticks, i.e. try to scroll down once and it skips to the next one) except the d-pad. So if i try to select a weapon, it will automatically double click the weapon and I will be as i was a second before. I hear the noise and see the selection indicator square flash up, so i know the selection is momentarily made. I have played with mods almost from the beginning, recently started a new game with a fresh batch of mods, and played without issue for a while. Then I tried to remove a couple of mods and all of a sudden this has started, so I am pretty sure where the issue has arisen. I've tried re-loading the mods, including re-installing all those affected by the two i swapped out, and it's not resolved it. Running fallout through the steam launcher (no mods) doesn't cause double clicking, but un-selecting all mods and running through F4SE still makes it double click. What is the best course of action - I don't want to lose my progress so far... 2much4l1
Have you added a UI device? Hmm, maybe check/refresh your .inis. Try re-installing F4SE.
PoorlyAged
I ran into a problem which sounds eerily familiar. Turned out my buttons were sticking. Taking the device apart and removing all of the ... ahhh ... gunk from the insides fixed the problem. Google "youtube cleaning xbox 306 controller" for a bunch of how to videos. jimfromcov
Thanks guys, After trying to remove / reinstall all mods, F4SE, etc. and removing / re-installing the drivers, I finally just re-installed the entire game, minus the mod I didn't want, and it's now working fine again. My issue now is that the XB1 controller I bought won't work smoothly unless it's directly facing the bluetooth dongle. What a nightmare...
2much4l1
Glad you got i t fixed. I still haven't gotten my Xbox Elite to work. Maybe I'll stock up on the plug and play 360 controller. Why do you want to switch to the XB1 controller?
