What is Your Weapon Loadout For FO4?

A classic question indeed. I've tried going melee but somehow I always end up with - almost- the same loadout after a while. More or less the same as I played in FO3 and New Vegas :whistling:

Long range - my favorite..... : A .308 sniper rifle. .50 cal as soon as I can get my hands on a receiver. Modded (cheat) to be a true one shot - one kill monster

Close up - 1: Fully modded - all vanila- .45 pipe submachine gun. Compared to the Tommy gun it is much lighter and yet it packs a considerable punch.

Close up - 2: Depending on my character I sometimes carry a minigun too.

Area weapons: I don't go out without at least 10 grenades/ explosives of some kind.

Backup: A .44 DE or a .45 Colt/HK USP

For robots: I've added an EMP muzzle (mod) to Righteous Authority. It is very efficient against robots. But I need to stay at range in order not to get blasted myself when I hit the robot.

My female Institute character is melee/unarmed only. She only has a fully upgraded Disciples blade with a wounding enchantment and some Kneecapper Knuckles.

One thing I would like to know - do knuckles come under melee weapons or unarmed?

My male BoS character is mostly rifles. Plasma. He's currently armed with a plain gauss rifle (haven't decided on a legendary effect yet), a wounding Gatling Laser, a backup Disciples blade (good for cave crickets and other small critters), a wounding plasma rifle (fully modded, no scope. I hate scoped weapons) and a menagerie of grenades.

As I run War of the Commonwealth, sometimes with Endless Warfare, there's no such thing as too many weapons. It's usually ammo that I run out of. I still can't remember which settlement I kept my stash of 167 fusion cores as I only have 21 on me :D

I'm pretty sure knuckles are unarmed. So no pistols or rifles at all huh? You must be a terror at close range! I mean with your institute char. I wonder if there is a way to make some underwater battles? Just not with sharks!

The Dude with OSOK ammo, see it, kill it.

A different (modded) sniper rifle

A variety of "Assault rifles/carbines" with different types of ammo, explosive, AP etc, all suppressed

Auto Combat Shotgun for enclosed spaces

A suppressed handgun for those "quiet" moments.

A variety of grenades/mines, frag and also emp type ones, due to the fact that, for some reason, none of my weapons can kill enemies in Power Armour, so I have to use multiple emp/plasma grenades/mines to wear them right down.

It was going to be only unarmed but as I wasn't sure I put points into both.

I managed to loot Maxson's gatling laser. As much as I like them I modded it up a bit and gave it to a companion. Most unique guns I give to companions. I prefer my fists:

:D

She's level 63 at the moment. Wears a marine suit with ballistic weave (version 5), and pieces are mostly disciples except the chestpiece and helmet which are metal. All various legendary effects. Even though it seems like she's overpowered a high level assaultron I still need to run away from or let my companion be the target while I stand over here and watch and loot.

Silenced 10mm pistol with legendary 2 shot effect

Gauss Rifle with legendary VATS enhanced effect

.50 Scoped/Silenced Hunting RIfle with legendary instigating effect and a mod for + damage

Dual Barrel RAW Missile Launcher (Mod)

SCAR-LK Automatic Rifle (Mod)

Frag Grenades

I'll sometimes switch out the SCAR-LK for the Overseer's Guardian combat rifle, but everything else is pretty much constant

Standard equipment is

FAMAS with silencer and scope

M82a2 Scoped and silenced

Bull .44

Grenades(plasma and Frag)

Combat knife

No need or use for anything else

If you can´t use the terrain to your advantage and hate sneaking, sniping and going"heh, got ya" then it´s not for you :-)

I never use Miniguns and all that crap.. i call in airsupport when needed (BoS-player all the way) other than that i sneak, wait and take the shot when it´s there

I am trying to reduce the amount of weapons I carry. But generally, it differs from each character based on the perks and specialty. When I play a stealth sniper. So most of my weapons must have a silencer. My close combat weapon is Deliverer that use VATS as a form of close combat. I carry a melee weapon but I find that I never use it. When I play an automatic weapon expert, of course things change. And when I play a melee specced character, there are at least 2-3 weapons are melee (1 for VATS, 1 for outside of VATS).

One question for all the automatic weapon users... how do you guys find enough ammo? I try not to cheat but from time to time I have to add a few more rounds via console so I can progress. That is already with me carrying 3-4 weapons that use different kind of ammo.

One thing to note, Desert Eagle can be modded down to use .38 rounds. It is weaker yes, but has formidable performance (especially in VATS) and literately enjoys tons of ammo. It replaces Deliverer as my close combat weapon.

Ammo is abundant imo.. just limit your weapons to the most common ammo types and your´re set.. any 10mm weapon as main weapon and then for the specials use .50 or .308..
