Random Save Corruption - Skyrim SE

Hey all,

Just got a nice new gaming rig and decided to dive into Skyrim SE - created a build in Nexus MM with Loot and Bash and have lots of Oldrim experience with mods and load order. Got a stable build going with 253 mods that looks and plays great - until level 10, at around which point I get random issues where dialogs go a bit wonky and saves show corrupted images and won't load. I quit out and restart and everything is fine... 'til it happens again... I can not seem to isolate the cause. And while I have found a few threads out there with similar issues I've not seen any solutions. Without presenting my mod list I might not be able to get any useful feedback - mainly curious if others have had this issue and what they did to fix it.

When it happens to me I save quit out, reload then save and load that save and play until it happens again and repeat. The good news is quiting the game and starting again fixes the issue and the game plays fine until it doesn't... there doesn't seem to be an obvious trigger.

Anyone have any advice or known triggers for this behavior? Thanks in advance.

UPDATED: my issue appears to have been caused by Loot incorrectly placing Realistic Dialog Overhaul much too high. I move RDO, along with its patches, near the bottom of my LO and the issue has not reappeared in several hours - it was happening every 20 mins or so. Just FWIW if anyone else has similar probs.

This happened to me once. But I was able to fix it by sorting the load order using LOOT. Try loading a clean save. Check your issue still comes up.

Thanks - do use loot - so my LO was sorted with LOOT. However, the SE version of loot does some weird stuff - like putting alternate start and xpmse at the the top along with some others that need to be at bottom. And then i hand sort lots of NPC overhauls too as it gets those wrong. I do think it is a LO issue, but Loot doesn't fix it.

The issue manifests in games with dialogs going wonky - options changing each time I click on an NPC and then an inability to choose one. So I think it's related to one of my mods that alters conversations, of which RDO is the biggest one. I've moved that to the bottom of my LO - Loot put it at top and author recommends bottom - and so far the issue hasn't come up again, but need to test more.

i really need to learn how to set up rules in loot so i don't have to remember to hand sort dozens of mods each time i run it :-)
