SailorTaurus
I've been attempting to get one of my Housecarls to wear some custom armour as their default armour, in particular I wanted Lydia to wear the Triss outfit (yes, ignoring the fact that it's a light armour and she's a heavy armour person, i'm in the process of finding a nice looking heavy armour too). The way I tried to do it was to load up Skyrim, Update, and the Triss armour mod in the Creation Kit. Then I created a new outfit and put the Triss items I wanted in there, set Lydia to wear the new outfit, and then save as a new mod. For some strange reason though it never works; when I load my new mod back into the creation kit, the outfit it blank, and in-game the most I can do is get her naked. What am I doing wrong? Is this a problem with the fact that she's already my Housecarl? Would I have to start a new game to see the effect?
fLokii
Well the process as you described seems fine, so might be a save issue, as in her having previous armor in inventory. Why that would prevent use of new outfit.. can't say i know off the bat, but if you want an easy solution just use my mod and give her what you want in game.Hope it helps. SailorTaurus
Thanks, admittedly that's a much nicer method. No idea why they didn't just let you change their armour in the first place. EDIT: Is it supposed to work with NMM? For some reason I keep getting "File does not exist" when trying to download it from NMM. EDIT2: One more thing, since this isn't mentioned in the description or comments, is this mod compatible with Sugaki's Feminine Housecarl Stance mod? I will be making some optional esps (enable riding, females have female animation etc) these days so keep an eye out if you want. SailorTaurus
Cool. For now, i'll try and do a simple edit, for my own use of course. :)
nosisab
There is no compatibility/incompatibility with NMM, it does nothing more than taking the files from the compressed mod's file and installing them into /data... so is on the modder side the onus to put their files in to the correct folder structure and provide script to allow selective installation "case" the mod has choices to be made. Otherwise the mod is not correctly formatted to be used with NMM, simple as this, and that mod would not work in SW too. edit: the only way to avoid scripting the install for mods having choices (mutually exclusive options) is creating a mod to each version and only that version and putting them at the download page, yet the mod still needs to have the files inside the expected folders and can't have subfolders except if the ESP "and" the mesh files are aware of them (the path points to the correct place). Did you ever get around it? As that mod is great for followers, but I want to do custom outfits for many npcs.
soulslayerzx
Sorry for the bump, but sine the new update or something. I've been getting this issue too, if I give characters custom clothes by making them naked for default, sleeping and then putting armor/clothes in their inventory for them to wear, they end up naked. Do I have to create an armor set?
