is there a way to change how much ram/memory sse uses

I've seen some reference to this elsewhere, though I couldn't hope to find it again. From what I remember, Windows 10, if you use it, seems to have some effect on ram limitation, despite that SSE was supposed to release us from the ram limits imposed by the old Skyrim.

yay for windows 10 problems =/

Yep W10 users are stuck with 4064. In my opinion W7 64bit (and maybe 8.1 not sure) is the optimal platform for Skyrim, with that you get 10240 using enBoost. I'm still considering going back to it.

just to be clear this is ram and not vram your talking about.

Afaik, Win10 and both versions of Win8 limit the amount of memory for DX9 games, not DX11 games (like SSE.) So, Oldrim players are better off with Win7, while SE players are okay with any of the modern OSes.

 

Well, of course Win10 has lots of other issues, but that's for another thread...
