Necromancer Guild

I looked for a Necromancer guild and by the looks of it there are quite alot of them. I was wondering which one everyone thought was the best.

-One that doesn't interfere with Mage's Guild and has a good lore.

 

First not one word of better here, since this is a very subjective concept. Second a doubt: what would be the extent of the interference? Necromancers and the Mage's guild are tightly bounded, so I will assume that it is that the mod don't break the MG quest and the answer becomes somewhat simpler.

 

In Kvatch Aftermath there is already a branch of a Necromancers guild, this is extended yet longer with the 'Necromancer' mod (somewhat a centering and integrating resource) from the same author, that will lead you to question motives, diluting the manichaeistic division of good and evil to more realistic gray tones. All this interacting with the 'Origins of the Mage's guild' yet another already done mod and part of a greater WIP named 'Cyrodiil Upgrade'

 

Where these mods are concerned, the things that could directly affect the Mage's guild destiny happens after the player becoming the Arch Mage and so I think I can say they don't interfere with the MG quest, instead they give continuity to it. Finally, seems than lore is accounted at top in the afore mentioned project.

Necromancer lore is Mannimarco vs Vanus.

 

Anything we know about Necromancy comes from the battles between Mannimarcos Order of the Black Worm and Vanus's Mages Guild. But since Vanus is the one that invented the schools of magic and since Mannimarco refused to be limited by Vanus's stupid morality. The two orders would have developed very differently.

 

Trouble is, Beth never told us much about how Necromancers operated so there is no real lore surrounding the necromancer guild. So I invented a whole way of working for Necromancers for the KVatch aftermath mod that all comes from 1 basic idea.

 

If a necromancer got in to fight, he would not want the other guys body, burnt, frozen or chopped up because it would be a valuable resource to him.

 

So Necromancers in my guild operate under the assumption preserving the body is the most important factor. Other mages would chop it up or burn it up. So thats your big difference between the two.

 

Thats why none of my necromancers use destruction magic.

 

Also they favour conjuration or the creation of undead armies via other means, both of which i have made possible in kvatch aftermath. You could for example do this.

Thats how a Necromancer deals with his enemies, no fireballs, just lots of worm thralls :)

Oh and spells that leach of your magicka to run for longer of course. Very handy for a magic user that needs shields because they lack destruction magic.

MassiveMurderer3= yeah? thats true but in my guild you can use illusanation, conjuration and destruction? But you can only use destruction magic if nescersery? But mostly in mine we can summon or control other characters or creatures?
