How to troubleshoot mods, & fix broken quests

Hey all, im a modding noob, skyrim is my first modded game, I have added a loaaadd of mods, mostly smaller ones, some graphical, some texture ones, and loads of little gameplay tweaks,

but i have also added a few Major gamechanging ones. most notable would be WIS, Deadly dragons, Vinis Needed food/rest, Complete crafting over haul and loads of others.

Now, these all work perrrrfectly all the time 100% of the time with one exception. they break the main quest, i started a new character, and the golden claw quest would not start. i got to the door where i needed it, i even tried the console to get past it, but it wouldnt work, so i started again. this time the golden claw worked perfectly and it was only when i did all that, now lvl 10 and loving my character, and returned the dragon stone to farengar did i realise that the scout had not come and the next quest was not starting....

so this is where i started TO try and fix it, i use Nmm & boss to add it & sort the load order out. but how do i find the root of the issue? I have uninstalled all the mods but still it will not load, i am willing to start again for the x'th time and get to after that point b4 i install any mods, but there is no garentee that it will not happen further down the line.

so my last question is what can i do to recover from this sort of thing? unfortunatly i was stupid enough to delete my saves because i thought it was all going well so my earliest save is in bleak falls barrow just prior to getting the dragon stone, i will try to run from there with no mods.

But i cant go back to playing vanilla skyrim, its just no fun compared.

please can someone give me advice on how to better manage and control my mods.

thank you

Josh

WiS has been reported to break that quest, keep an eye to update to the newer version. Till then, disable that mod till completing that quest, enable it again afterward. Good Luck.

Your post tell you newbie indeed just for installing so many mods at once but is advisable you don't call yourself a noob. Noob is a pejorative slang coined to address the people who never learn, is always dependent on others, a real parasite indeed... so... are you sure you want to be known as one?

PS: I mean, being newbie is fine, everyone is newbie at something once and for a time, the noob is neither fine nor nice and never develop. "It" can even play/act as a newbie but not necessarily is one.
