You know... You Can Probably Make this More lore friendly.

 

 

First off- You can try some samurai orcish- This is what oricsh looked like in Morrowind... Morrowind did it right!! Morrowind Also Had some more asian looking... Glass, Daedric and

No need to make it lore-friendly. The idea is to recreate Japanese items, and not lore-friendly items, right? Seriously, that Morrowind stuff is not Japanese. It's influenced by Asian aesthetics, but it's not even close to the real deal. Edited by FlyingHigh10000000

I think lore-friendly would sort of ruin some of the point here. The closest you can come to melding it into the game would be the previously mentioned Akaviri smithing quest or something along those lines. Maybe even go so far as to make a mini wormhole (portal) inside of a dwarven ruin the "takes you into another dimension" where you are in a smithy with a cool blacksmith NPC or something. I'm sure you could use similar work as the quest in Oblivion where you go inside the painting to save a dark elf artist. These are just ideas at this point, and I'm happy that this is making some headway here.

 

Any other ideas or contributions?

 

 

@ghosu Good work, keep it up. Best case scenario we can add in armor for each smithing level so it never drags behind the player's level or is too powerful.

 

 

As for sword animations, I think Killing Floor is actually a great source for ideas. The katana there works great and the animations are good.
