HeyYou
I am planning on getting an VGA adapter for my xbox one to connect to my pc monitor and I am wondering if connecting it to a monitor will increase performance if I do.?Nope. It might 'look' better, as you would be running perhaps the same resolution on a smaller screen.... but, it won't change performance a bit. hoofhearted4
as the above poster said, the monitor doesn't have any effect on performance. your monitor is simply what your system is outputting to. if your monitor can only do 60fps @1080p, then that is the most you will see. if your system can output better than that, it won't matter, and if it can't you won't get that. now a monitor might look better than your TV, depending on what you have for a TV. if you only have a 720p TV and your monitor is 1080p, then it will certainly look better. and I've hooked my PS4 up to my monitor and I enjoy playing on it. so what it will really come down to is a preference, but not performance.
