m3talc0re
A step was skipped or you left something out... I'm trying to make a stand alone retexture of the steel shield and I can't find a texture set for it...
ScarabMonkey
You just need to right click on any textureSet and click 'New'
Jadak
It's not necessary to make a textureset for whatever the default textures are in the .nif. You only need a textureset if you want to override the defaults. Hence, vanilla armors don't usually have one, except for a couple that have retexes, like the hooded robes, the hold guard armors, or the penitus occulatus armors. It doesn't matter, just make a totally new textureset if you don't have a base one to work with. Just remember to plug in any normal or specular maps textures as well as the diffuse. TSotP
I know that this topic is a year old. But its the closest thing ive seen to what im looking for. If I wanted to make a retexture of an existing armor for a follower npc to wear, all i would have to do is create a new textureset and duplicate the armor. Then redirect the duplicate to this new texture set? And I can do all this with the creation kit? I already have the new textures made. (Cutrently they retexture all armor of that type) Edited March 16, 2013 by TSotP
