gunnigolf
The lowest level Mehrunes Razor has a Disintegrate Armor 5pts for 3 secs and Daedric Banishing on Strike. It has 205 uses. The highest level has a Disintegrate Armor 15pts for 7 secsand Daedric Banishing on Strike. It has only 49 uses. I don't really care about the damage it does or the disintegrate armor effect, only the Daedric Banishing. I would say, if the lowest level has 205 uses but the highest only 49 that the lowest level version is better. Or does the Daedric Banishing work even if the weapon is out of charges? Stewb
Daedric Banishing is still a spell effect, so it will not work if there is no charge. If the chartges bother you, learn soul trap and a decent conjuration spell and do the Azura Daedric quest. This will give you a infinite use soul gem (Azura's Star) and the summon will give you infinte soul trappable creatures. gunnigolf
But it still means that if i only care about the banishing the higher level is worse.
Lainge
Well be thankful that the Mehrunes Razor quest is easy enough that you can get through it at low levels. I got it thinking it was going to be a challenge. It was pretty cool, but I didn't die once. I was Level 3.

So I think the chance of banishment is enhanced too. Need to confirm this.
nosisab
The chances are really capped at 10% having player luck a role here. So the things that really enhances are the weapon health and raw base damage (against weight) (another thing, without the unofficial patch the player must think several times before using the razor against foes as Liches, as the reflected banishment would be his/her doom) maybe you would like the Afinity sword (shameless self promotion) :)
Lainge
Why is it not spelt Affinity sword? (Bit over-bearing for my tastes. I'll just stick with my Ebony Blade.) I still think the Mehrunes Razor is better at low levels.
Vagrant0
Why is it not spelt Affinity sword? (Bit over-bearing for my tastes. I'll just stick with my Ebony Blade.) I still think the Mehrunes Razor is better at low levels. It's only better at lower levels because weapon damage is so screwed up in the vanilla game. There's just too much standing around slashing a rat 50 times with an Ebony Claymore before it dies, kinda situations. Under these cases, it's only natural that a weapon which has a good chance to instant kill within 10 hits, and can strike fast would be preferred. If you use mods that up physical (skill based and strength based) damage to more acceptable amounts however, the advantage can be significantly lessened, even more so when you have mods that grant magic absorbs, resists, and reflects to most higher level things. nosisab
I got myself curious about this characteristic of the razor, so I opened and searched the mod about the leveling of it. Contrary my first thought, the banishment rate is fixed (although luck dependent) and capped at all its levels. So the things that variates are its physical properties, as the dagger becomes more healthy, more damaging and more weighted too. After I compared the script against the unofficial patched and the only difference was the inclusion of a player's protection against reflexion, that would be instant kill to him/her. The only reason I saw, in that quick review, to the cost in charges being higher at the weapon higher levels was to balance the fact that would be more easier to higher level players recharge the weapon (both directly or paying gold to this) than the greener ones. About I mentioning my mod, I'm already sorry I did so, but about the name of the weapon, well, it is not an uncommon one and is not a typo.
