Comic & Magazine Redux

@OP

thanks for asking an intriguing question!

that would be fairly awesome, in a few different ways.

it may be possible...

embeddable .swf or the 'minigame reading Project Guttenberg overhaul" is also in the works,

and DC and Marvel have the lower-res "free archives" for stuff up to the late 80s or 90s and select comics arcs and issues...

so, it may be possible that way.

and that's just western style - there's also french, japanese, chinese, indian and south american style comics,

which may also be available in that way.

it would be similar to the Embeddable Aural Objects livestreamable project...

but, for static images, instead of the visual embeddable project (which is for .mov, .gif, .swf etc)

in the meantime,

several indie-comics makers have been working in conjunction with the "better FO4 books"

project, to make "palimpsests" and decoupage lore-riffic 'comics of the wasteland" etc.

those are wholely able to 100% be available in those mod,

and also link to xkcd and other meme-comics in-world.

------

With "Books of the Wasteland", better hacking/dosbox etc

better regionlizations and language voiceovers, and these comics and materials,

it may be possible to 'subliminal passive learning' ify Fallout.

The average gamer may not even necessarily be aware they are learning.

In an era of neo-sophistry, and with learners at all levels becoming "learning averse", this could be a very interesting long-term project...

you could learn a lot of stuff passively that way.

you could learn maths, physics, languages... all kinds of things,

all the while, whilst playing in a fictional dystopia.

I think it's a lot like ARMA 3 or other frameworks in that sense then,

as its not agenda-based conclusion-led subliminal learning.

its actual useful stuff, if that's where it heads as a variant of "edu-tainment".

forgive my digression to the macro-meta long-futures.

@qwertyzeldar clearly you haven't looked at many other mods that violate copyright laws lol

infringing on copyright in a mod would get the creator/uploader banned and the mod removed before Nexus became liable to prosecution for hosting content that breaks copyright law.

the only way copyright material can be used, even for no profit, is if it can be classed as fair use.

seeing as there are no hard and fast rules that define fair use, it could boil down to who has the most money for lawyers and the time to waste in court?

...

... or if you ask for and receive permission from the copyright holder. Not that I see Marvel and DC giving permission.

im pretty sure that Mighty Zog assumed that as a given

I was thinking that Comics in the game *should* be readable!! (i.e. have pages you can turn!) That would be much fun - I'd love to read the adventures of Grognak (spelling?) - Of course, that content would have be be made in house, and not copied from outside sources... (unless they could get some license from an external publisher to do so.. in which case, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!

My 0.02 cents!

that'd be neat. maybe some fan series or something. someone should go ask on them fancy art sites and see if anyone would be down to make up the comics.
