Purple Raiders and invisible animals

Recommended Posts

Hey there! So after a lot of trial and error I've managed to get almost all my mods for my F3 playthrough working now, but Im now having trouble with about 60% of animals and raiders either having Purple skin or being invisible. I deleted project beauty which fixed part of the problem as now not so many of the Raiders are purple. The only mod left that could be causing it I believe to be MMM which makes a lot of creatures in the game have varying appearances, and I have seen some other people with the same problem in the past but sadly with no clear solution. All my mods were downloaded through NMM, load order was organised by BOSS as LOOT didnt work for FO3, and Archive invalidation is checked as active on NMM (even though FWE says it isnt during install but still downloads fine anyhow). Load order:

I surprised the game will start and run since you have active compatibility patches and are missing one of the master files. Disable and delete the Project Beauty patches.

You need to toggle (turn off/turn on) archive invalidation each time you make any changes to textures in the game. Leaving it activated does not make the required changes.

You are also missing a compatibility patch for MMM and FWE. Get it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18173/? You must read and understand the requirements and installation instructions.

It seems to have worked! no more purple raiders! I didn't realise those patches were still in there, and i had no idea blackened even existed till now. Have not heard about it until you showed up. Thanks for your help man and sorry for post spamming a bit, but I have noitced two small things. Some NPCS have mismatched skin colors, with their facer being a different (usually lighter) tone than their body and FWE makes some pip boy icons disappear. I've heard these two are fairly common problems but I've yet to find a fix for them. Any ideas?

The mismatch between the head and body is usually caused by a mod that changes the NPCs. Unfortunately, the only fix I have seen is to make the mod changing the NPC into an .esm using FO3Edit.

I have never had a problem with pipboy icons that is caused by FWE.

and FWE makes some pip boy icons disappear.

Did you grab FWE by clicking the Download (NMM) at the top of the mod page, or did you go into the files section for the mod and acquire it that way? If you did the former, you likely don't have the second part of the mod which contains all the assets or the hotfix patch.

E: Very new to modding in general, so take with a grain of salt...but I ask because this is the mistake I made which caused some pipboy icons to disappear/appear as 'pipos error'.
