AKindOfSoda
Basically I've come to the realisation that vampires in skyrim are basically just mages with some spells other people can't get that don't like the sun.Vampires for me should be super-strong, super-fast badasses using their claws and teeth to tear apart their foes so I want a mod that can make them into this. My vampires would be heavily melee oriented:Claws - High claw damage, perhaps with health absorb effect like the gargoylesAgility - Faster than normal humans allowing them to reach multiple enemies rapidly in battle, also perhaps a higher jump height to allow them to jump over enemiesHuman shield - To demonstrate the vampires strength I would like to see them be able to pick up weakened enemies by the neck, using them as a shield and then being able to bite them/throw them at others to make them fall down (this would of course cost stamina like normal blocking and power bashing)Faster reflexes - time would slow when enemies power attack, allowing vampires to attack their weak spots and deliver critical hits/staggerVampiric powers:Current vampire powers don't have much/any combat focus.Embrace of Shadows is useful for stealth attacks but can only be used once a day so becomes quite redundant. I would replace it with something more distraction based, like sending out multiple shadows of yourself to draw the attention of your foes while you find a better position or escapeVampires seduction is a must have for obvious reasonsVampires sight is completely redundant, I've played Skyrim a lot and haven't once found an area so dark the night vision is required. I would replace it with something similar to Detect LifeVampires Servant is okay as a combat power, but is still quite magical so doesn't fit in with play style of these vampires. It would fit the theme better if it was coupled with a Blink Strike type power, when the vampire teleports behind a foe, draining their blood and absorbing their health, killing them instantly. That body would then rise from the dead in the same way the Vampires Servant does. Not a big change but it stops it just being a glowing blue ball that flies out of your face and resurrects the deadYou might be thinking that all this makes the vampire a little overpowered, but I feel like the vampire should be. If a vampire can be taken down by a weakling human who got put off adventure by just a little arrow in the knee then there would be no point in the Dawnguard being formed in the first place. I don't want to spend my days cowering away from the sun in a cave, I want to "walk as a lion among sheep", tearing apart my enemies with tooth and claw. iXenite
There are two Vampire overhaul mods that you should look into and see if either suits you. Both add new abilities for Vampires to take advantage of, both are much better than Vanilla Vampires. As for claws, I don't think Vampires have claws, at least not in TES. Although the Vampire Lord form probably has some claws. Better Vampires:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9717/? Sacrosanct:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/80159/? AKindOfSoda
Yeah I've tried both, but I felt they both overcomplicated it and were still very magic based, I don't want it to be super modular, just offer a more traditional vampire expirence (strong/fast etc.) rather than just adding more magic. Sacrosanct and Better Vampires both favour the Mage with the extra blood magic and Haemomancy. I want a more primal close quarters vampire mod
Titaniatic
I like the human shiled idea, i think grabbing dead bodies isn't effective as much but it needs to be thing.
mataschmata
have you looked at the Dawnguard vampire perk tree yet? Most of the things you mentioned are already in the game, such as Supernatural Reflexes, Vampiric Grip, and melee mode. You can make melee mode stronger with augments like Poison Talons and Ring of the Beast. You can also use Blood Healing to heal yourself whenever you kill someone. Vampires are supposed to be for mages. Werewolves are for melee. Until someone makes your mod, i'd suggest using a werewolf. They're built for ripping people apart. Download some gore mods and you're good to go. Edited June 7, 2017 by mataschmata
