shwick2
After reading through the draw speed section on archery and looking at the list of bows which bow is best for sneak attacks? http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Archery#Draw_Speed http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim%3aBow#Bows It says heavier bows have higher first shot damage. Reading the list of bows they increase in weight and decrease in draw speed as you go down the list. So why does the lighter bow section say it has less draw speed when the heavier ones have less draw speed? Or is the draw speed reversed? Does a daedric bow actually have the longest draw speed with 0.5? Thats why I don't understand the difference between the lighter and heavier bow "advantages" if they both want to use daedric, or they both want to use the next bow in the list. Right now I have an elven bow(weight 12 damage 13) and a falmer bow(weight 15 damage 12), which one do I use? Edit: i dont enchant or smith I only use what I find Edited February 18, 2012 by shwick2
babis8142
I think the best combat bow is Ancient Nord Hero bow (in vanilla Skyrim you can't make an Ancient Nord Bow into a hero bow but with mods it's possible). It has 7 weight and pretty high damage for a combat bow. But if you are a sneaky-sneaky one-shot-kill you probably should go with daedric or glass the higher damage the better. From the two I say go with Elven since the falmer bow has less damage and the draw speed should increase as the weight increases. So it's also slower. Also about thisSo why does the lighter bow section say it has less draw speed when the heavier ones have less draw speed? Or is the draw speed reversed? Does a daedric bow actually have the longest draw speed with 0.5? That confuses me too. It's should be the higher the number the faster the bow. Maybe the speed is relevant. I mean if the speed of the longbow is 1 the speed of the daedric bow is 0.5 which means half. Or double.Oh f*** it I can't make sense Edited February 18, 2012 by babis8142
BaconCat
Nightingale Bow. Period. Even if you just stick with the Vanilla one and don't have a mod to craft a custom enchanted version, it's pretty bad ass if you take the time to improve it. ATM my one does over 300 damage per hit, plus another 50 Fire and Another 50 Shock. (100 Smithing + 100 Enchanting is awesome :P) I can pretty much one shot anything that isn't a Dragon Edited February 18, 2012 by BaconCat

Brennan
300 damage? I'm seriously missing something, the maximum damage weapon I have is a legendary deadric warhammer with 199, not including dual enchants. I'm equipping every smithing enchant item I can find but each one seems to add only +20 or so. (lvl 57 with 100 2handed, smithing and enchanting. What am I missing? chanchan05
Level 60 I can get my bow to 460 damage no repetitive smith + potion exploits without the enchantments on the bow. However that's from the skills and enhance archery equipment. The best smithing enchantment you can get without exploit is to wear 4 +25% smithing and a +107% potion
xlcr
hi shwick2, don't forget about your arrows (craft daedric arrows when you get the daedric smithing perk). have since moved on to these mods for more bow+arrow fun (not too immersion breaking):Arrows of Magicka by deadmccoy ' http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9799 '.Glowing Arrows by Jerry60k ' http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5811 '.Daedric Bow No Weight by bambolambo ' http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4838 '. my level 50+ character with perks/smithing/enchanting skills/potions crafted/tempered the equivalent of a Legendary Daedric Bow of Petrifying, >1200 damage w/enchanted peerless necklaces/rings/armor/etc, got rid of the thing - way too overpowered.Going back to the vanilla stuff and using only what i find like you.But no way I'm giving up my Star Wars Magicka Saber! lol add edit: also, look into Archery perks, you want Quick Shot; also, light armor Unhindered and heavy armor Conditioning i think..
