Ghogiel
Whereever you last clicked in the empty space will become the pivot point the camera will rotate around, even if you have an object selected. Just hit z and it'll recenter the camera pivot on the selected object.
AurelTristen
I sometimes forget foolish mortals don't use a 3D Mouse :P I L O V E mine. Can't imagine modeling without it. Makes me at LEAST twice as fast. And for next time, if you need to post screenshots, press print screen, go to windows paint, CTRL + V, select the important bits, CTRL + C, new file (don't save), CTRL + V again, save. Then upload to photobucket or something like it and post. Good luck!

aarons6
dunno, maybe turn them off? not sure what you mean. what button turns them off? i looked around in the menus and didnt see anything specific to shadows. so many questions sorry, what is deference between select and move and select and manipulate.. they both seem to do the same thing. Ghogiel
select and manipulate is for spline and shape objects isn't it? I never use it tbh. I just just the reg ol' w,e,r for the basic transforms even on spline and shape objects.
AurelTristen
If I remember correctly, Select and Manipulate is just a tool to speed up using the mouse to work on geometry. In your 3D viewport, you see three brackets in the upper left. [ + ] [ Perspective ] [ Realistic + Edge Faces] (Yours might have different words). The 3rd one is the one you want. Right click on it, go to lighting and shadows and shut off what you want.
aarons6
im having aonther problem.. im done with the left glove and when i moved on to the right glove the xyz slider thing is stuck to the left glove.. so i cant see what im moving.. i think i might have selected something and i dont have any idea what it could have been... to make things more clear, the right glove is selected and i push move, instead of the xyz thing in the screen, its on the other side of the model. nevermind, it was use pivot point center.. i clicked it and it went back the glove.. so complicated lol.. Ghogiel
The transform gizmo will be located at the meshes pivot center.. I think this is what is going on by what you say, basically you can delete the right hand glove, assuming the left and right are identical. set pivot to 0 in the x plane, the mirror the lft glove in x., now I would go about skinning the left glove then use skin utilities to extract weights to a mesh, then mirror that. now select the left glove, assuming this is editable poly and not editable mesh (skin never used to like editable mesh, and skin utilities neither), and under the skin modifier attach the r glove. add the right hand bones to the skin modifier and then use skin utilities to import the weights from the mirrored mesh with the extracted weights.
