Archive Invalidation....

how does it work? seriously i was(out of my mind), and i basically install a bunch of mods and didnt bother with that option until today which i use that ElChE's Content Validator...and i could not even start up oblivion without any mods...but then its probably cause i overwrote the original textures/meshes with a bunch of exnem stuff. But that would not make any sense since it was fine( with CTDs once in a while)before.

hmm, not, mods don't touches the vanilla files in the Oblivion.bsa ...

As normal the engine will use the newer dated file, at the vanilla or directly in the /data structure or in registered mods BSAs. But often it fails for not very known reasons. So an Archive Invalidation.txt was used to tells the engine the ones it must use, but this failed too. So several utilities were developed that does a better job at driving the engine to choose the correct ones.

It's not clear to me if you mean oblivion failing to load altogether, crashing or such ... so I'll assume this is the case.

The most common reason to these crashes or load failings is for the oblivion.ini located at c:\My Documents.... being inexact to the configuration. you can ever try copying the Oblivion_Default.ini from the folder oblivion is installed to that c:\My documents.... and replacing the Oblivion.ini that must be there (backup of it can be made before renaming). This must solve the problem of oblivion crashing at start.

Now, if it starts but have textures issues, so reinstalling the mods or completely removing the offending files must be performed too.

not it fails to load up....it starts loading oblivion then it CTD before even going through the various pre-menu videos.

technically i was just assuming. but like i said only when i did that archive invalidation thing then it wouldn't let me load oblivion up. very strange.

Chances are the problem with the Oblivion.ini I told in the previous reply. Copy Oblivion_Default.ini from your installation folder to C:\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion rename your Oblivion.ini there and rename the first to Oblivion.ini

Test to see if this solve the CTD issue
