LeddBate
LeddBate, i use windows 7 so that shouldn't be an issue. So i reckon i should be good with SE then? You should be good. Honestly, I don't know if the 32bit version of Win 7 will hold you back in any way when playing SE. I don't think it will. If your Win 7 is 64bit, then you will have no issues at all playing either version. SE = more stability, but somewhat less mods (mainly those that cannot function without SKSE and have therefore not been ported) though there is still a significant number of mods to be ported that do not rely on SKSE.LE = less stability, but more mods (because of SKSE being available for it) though the difference in number of mods between the two editions is dwindling as more mods that do not absolutely require SKSE are getting ported. I am personally switching back-and-forth between versions at the moment because great mods (e.g. Beyond Skyrim - Bruma) keep popping up and I'm simply too impatient to wait for them to get ported. But I do prefer SE for the stability.

I really should have known that. Win 10 is my first 64bit OS. My Win 7 was 32bit and it died on me just a few months before SE became available. Also, I hadn't tried any other 64bit/DX11 games, so I am (was) quite ignorant on that matter. I was guessing (apparently, wrongly) that SE would run on Win 7 32bit, but with some reduced functionality. Thanks for pointing out my error. @Yetimusics: So, with that mistake on my part revealed; -If your Win 7 is 64bit, then no problem. You can run both Oldrim and SE and will not have your GPU's VRAM capped at 4GB. If your Win 7 is 32bit, you cannot run SE. But at least you still won't have the VRAM cap in Oldrim. TeofaTsavo
I have 64 bit Windows 7 and SE will not even load. It does help with LE though.

viperprime
I know everyone's experiences are different, but in 32-bit I used to crash all the time. It wasn't if I'll crash, but when.I'm running ~70 mods right now and haven't CTD once. That's nearly unbelievable to me, given my experiences on 32-bit. I have been wondering if some of that is because we have more "developed/mature" mods that have been ported over.SE seems to have "thinned the herd" "separated the wheat from the chaff" etc... etc....We've traded quantity of mods for quality mods. (in my opinion)
LeddBate
Well, somewhat that I suppose. But a lot of it is simply that SE is a lot more stable due to the better memory management. A lot of mods (that don't rely on SKSE) can be processed through the CK and will work just fine in SE. Many of these same mods might have had issues in LE simply because they demanded too much of the 32bit system and/or pushed you over the VRAM limit. This is why a lot of the mod authors have been wiling to port their mods using "workarounds" (like books or spells) to get past the MCM menus (that SKSE provided), because their mods are more stable in SE.
