Maharg67
I would like to see a bit by bit approach to bringing aspects of the two previous Bethesda Fallout games to Fallout 4. This way, hopefully, would be possible and far less exhausting than trying to port either F3 or FNV to the F4 Engine. A good start could be an enhanced version of the 'virtual reality' based Tranquillity Lane making it a larger settlement with more NPCs, a more flexible main quest along with new side quests, colourisation, a way of accessing TL from more than one location. The modding resources, such as buildings and weapons, could be taken from F4 itself. That is this does not have to be an exact copy of the original F3 TL but an attempt to turn TL into the far more interesting quest that it could have been. The completion, of the main quest, could also lead to the unlocking of a workshop, allowing TL to become an actual settlement of sorts, and also the unlocking of a permanent new player home. The number of original NPCs was very small and of course their names, histories, could be changed. Then there are the Anchorage scenario, Megaton, a version of Rivet City, the city of New Vegas etc. that all could be adapted to better fit F4. One day they could be added together as an ever, slowly, expanding overhaul. The idea is to 'try' to make modders' work easier while enriching the F4 gaming experience and having a chance to replay enriched versions of old quests, environments, etc. Perhaps I will be part of that work as a writer or even as a modder. Maharg67
Thank you, mighty zog, for your suggestion; I checked out the site you linked but it is an overhaul, though a promising one, and not what I am proposing which is to port into Fallout 4 aspects of Fallout 3 and Fallout NV, altering them and using mainly Fallout 4 vanilla resources. *Tranquillity Lane*Achorage*Megaton*New Vegas*others? How canon the results would be I am not sure but the Fallout games have not always stuck to canon anyway. Playability, enjoyability, are just as important as canon. A new history could be invented, being largely true to canon but making for more flexibility. Perhaps this would become an overhaul, one day, but not in any exhausting, big team effort, sort of way. zygster525
The bad news is the Fallout NV project has fallen apart, the good news is the Fallout 3 project got stronger, as the people working on the NV Project have joined them. I hope it comes to pass, what they have so far looks really good.
