What is your dream build?

Recommended Posts

As expected, I'll start it off with a BANG!

Motherboard: Rampage IV Extreme

CPU: LGA2011 Intel Core i7-3820 (3.6G,L3:10M,6C,HT,rev.M0)

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 590 612MHZ 3GB 3420MHZ GDDR5 (x4)

RAM: Vengeance — 16GB Quad Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (x4)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda Green ST2000DL003 2TB 5900 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s

PSU: Corsair 1200 Watt AX1200

Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Monitor: ASUS 24" 16:9 VS248H Full HD LED

Chassis: NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Full Tower ATX White Ex./White INT.

Keyboard: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate Gaming Keyboard

Mouse: Cooler Master Storm Inferno Gaming Mouse

CD ROM: LITE-ON Black SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model iHDS118-04 - OEM (x2)

A very high priced build but well worth the money. If you want a gaming pc with intense performance, graphics and speed, then a similar build is what you want. But of course if you want to really push the boundaries of speed and performance you can always take advantage of the Rampage 4 Extreme's built in over clocking abilities. Not that I have any intention on doing so...

Four 590's :ohdear: . You will smell the hair burning off the leg closest to the tower  . That sure would be a dream machine though.

I am partial to laptops now, and if I could have any one it would essentially be either crossfire 6970/90m and an Intel Xeon X5690 housed in that nicely redone Clevo 7200 chassis  . I am more than happy with my current computer though.

What's my dream PC?

A convertible laptop/tablet, one inch thick, waterproof to IP68, but with all the performance I ever need, lots of connectivity, and 24-hour battery life.

Or did you mean realistically.

I've got what I need (it's actually better in most aspects than the build in your first post - better RAM, HDD, SSD, PSU, cooling solution, display, chassis, keyboard, mouse, BD drive). Dumping a few more grand into it could improve its performance by 1%, but I'll never notice. The performance, that is; the noise I will.

But I'll bite.

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 590 612MHZ 3GB 3420MHZ GDDR5 (x4)

I don't think you can actually run four GTX590 at once. Each GTX590 is actually SLI already, and maximum SLI GPU count supported is 4, this would be 8 GPU. And even if you could, performance in most games would lag way behind 2xHD7970, since more than two GPU rarely work well.

first off, you cant do 4 590s, since they are dual GPU cards. even if you could, your Case only has 7 expansion slots. not enough (thats not even enough for 4-way SLI). next, with a high end gaming rig, going quad SLI or 4-way SLI, you would almost NEED to go full water cooling to keep those GPUs cool. as such, your CPU would be water cooled as well, and you wouldnt be able to use the Corsair...lastly...no SSDs? :P

and second: well actually nvm. we just had a thread on "your ultimate gaming PC" or so i thought. guess it wasnt all that recent cause it wasnt in the first 8 pages (which brought me to the end of last year) or at least i couldnt find it. so yea. nvm on that.....perhaps ill post my ultimate build (again) later :)

CPU: Whatever the best Ivy Bridge is when it comes out

Mobo: some z77 mobo. or whatever i find is best once that comes out

GPU: GTX 690 when they come out (yes only one)

RAM: 16gb of whatever RAM.

Monitor: some 24" monitor x3

HDD: 2tb HDD for backup

SSD: something like 8 SSDs or so. in Raid. probably 256gb each.

PSU: whatever Seasonic PSU that provides me enough Watts 1000W or 1250W

Case: as of now, probably the NZXT Switch 810, unless something better comes along by then

DVD: Blu Ray player/burner

Cooling: liquid. swiftech

keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K90

Mouse: Logitech g500 (its what i have now)

NIC: it would need to be wireless since it would be in the cellar

Fan Controller: idk something fancy for sh*ts and giggles

Fans: probably Cougar fans.

LEDs: Bitfenix LEDs

Soundcard: whatever is the best. would only ever use headphones. but if its an ultimate build, why not have one.

would also replace all visible cables with black or red possibly green? (dunno) betfenix extensions.

I guess I didn't really do enough research on those GPU's you are right tho they are dual. I didn't realize. Sorry and thanks for the correction. This was kind of a quickly through together rig, Corrections and adjustment are to be expected. Thanks for the correction.

I already have my partial dream system, four gtx 590's in quad :teehee:and a 1500wat psu to go along with it.

you cant do 4, we just went over this.

But its a dream build. Since its unlimited money they just have their motherboard custom made for the job  .
