As Aeryn mentioned, there's a myriad of reasons to boycott Ray Kroc's behemoth... deforestation of vast acreage in South America being the least of them (not to mention basic nutrition, and the way they target children/juveniles with their advertisements, etc.) I like that I've been able to perform a complete reinstall of my OS's and software in under 24 hours.
