motaboy
Hi there, I'm searching for a mod that gives you more XP for casting a spell, depending on his strength/costs of mana. I'd like to have it more like in the newer TES-games: The more powerfull the casted spell is, the more XP you gain. In unmodded Morrowind I get only 4 points of XP in the school of magic the spell is in (Casting an Illusion spell always gives you 4 points in Illusion) - thats 25 casted spells per level, 1500 casted spells to ring a skill from 40 to 100 and so 12.000! casted spells to bring up all 8 schools of magica to 100! Dragon32
All these are probably on Morrowind Modding History: Magicka Based Skill Progression by Hotfusion Improved Skilled Magicka by PirateLord Magicka Based Spell Advancement by Azrael the Drooling (uses Morrowind Enhanced) This just released here (uses MWSE): Magicka Mastery by MageKing17
leonardo2
There is also Morrowind XP (I dunno if the XP will be increased when casting spells), a mod sequel of Oblivion XP.
motaboy
Thanks a lot! I think Morrowind XP is changing too much for me, but i'll give the others a try - they sound like excactly what i searched for.
imoskvin
For anyone else coming here through Google-fu, note that some of these mods might be incompatible with MCP's "Swift casting" patch: http://www.gamesas.com/problem-with-magicka-based-spell-advancement-t46123.htmlhttp://www.gamesas.com/compatibility-patch-for-improved-skilled-magicka-and-t172150.htmlhttps://www.reddit.com/r/tes3mods/comments/9588ie/piratelords_improved_skilled_magicka_doesnt_work/ To fix that, you'd need to find and remove the GetSpellReadied if-block as described in the first link above. Magicka Mastery does not have this issue, but its current version (v2.0, 2017-07-12) is incompatible with MWSE v0.9.5-alpha.20171111 and higher. There's are fixed ESPs for it in this thread: https://github.com/MWSE/MWSE/issues/116 This guide by Gluby is old (2009), but it does a great job of explaining the differences between these mods: https://www.mwmythicmods.com/Gluby/Gluby_Magicka_and_Spell_Effect_Mods.htm#MagicSkillGainMods Its biggest shortcoming is that it was created before the Morrowind Code Patch really hit its stride, so its lacking some of that context. Probably because Bethesda stopped spidering of their old forums (no idea about bethesda.net) so all that content was/is only searchable via their own search function. Which was broken for years. Yeah, I remember that, utterly broken forum search.
