Problem with rain

Im having problems when raining in the game. The fps drop to 1 while fighting in rain. I was looking for the oblivion.ini values and found this:

[Weather]

fSunGlareSize=350.0000

fSunBaseSize=250.0000

bPrecipitation=1

fAlphaReduce=1.0000

SBumpFadeColor=255,255,255,255

SLerpCloseColor=255,255,255,255

SEnvReduceColor=255,255,255,255

I dont want to turn rain off, I just want to decrease its intensity so that my fps dont drop too much. I want to known what the value "fAlphaReduce" do. I put it at 2.0000 and 0.5000 but dont saw any difference. I also want to known if theres a mod that decrease rain intensity, or use less intense rain textures.

Thanks in advance.

have you tried using performance utilities? they can do a good job while prejudicing the minimal the graphics visuals

you can try at least these:

"streamline"

"operation optimization"

some of the several grass polygon reducers

"quiet feet" (this one is not related to graphics, instead it deal with the sounds of creatures feet, found to be very lagging, mainly in battles).
