I know that there are a few here and there that will be, but the BAB final update on the main site and tes nexus come up as corrupted, maddogs fantasy mod comes up as corrupted in file front, planetelderscrolls, and tesnexus. Also, many other larger mods are corrupted. Does anyone have an idea as to what I should be doing to uncorrupt them? Ways I have tried:Reinstalling oblivion and clearing modsdeleting excess modsthere is nothing to do else trying the download again, your files have missing parts or have wrong bytes of random nature.It's not the files are corrupted at the source, they becomes corrupted at the communication. Midas spells isn't even working for download.sadly there is not anything to be done with download corrupted files, unless this is just for it being incomplete, in this case, where possible using a download manager and the server accept this, you can resume from the interrupted point. What I meant was that as soon as winrar comes up, it either says that the format is unrecognized, it is damged (this part is a little rarer, however)The biggest, and most frequent problem is when I try extracting it. Exclamations come up in this small window (all in winrar) and it says crc source couldnt be found, this or that is corrupted etc. it happens with mods that many other people have no trouble downloading Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tamujiin Posted May 10, 2008 Share Posted May 10, 2008 Sounds to me like you have a corrupt winrar. Try downloading the trial version for free again from winrar's homesite. I dont know how to post links but i know the address. www.winrar.com. Otherwise you might be able to unpack some of those larger mods with 7zip. bben46 Posted May 10, 2008 Share Posted May 10, 2008 Winrar, especially older version seem to have some problems with files zipped with other zip programs. I use and recommend 7-zip. Its FREE and available on Tesnexus here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579 It has no problems with winrar or any other zip format I have tried it with. Upon installing 7zip, you should install it all default. that way any file you download will easily be unpacked. I know that because i did use it for emulation purposes. And I only downloaded stuff like that because i owned the game. ( bought alot of stuff from rummage sales, flea markets ect ect ect ) When installing a thingy like winrar or 7zip dont mess with anything. just install it normally by clicking next next and finish. I have never had a problem with the two. and have never had a problem with installing anything, and i use vista, its actually rather repetitive. On my old XP i also just installed everything in the default location with the default settings. Ohwerwise it has something to do with your data transfer over the internet. And ontop of it all if your doing this on an Xbox 360 it wont work, you can only mod the PC version of oblivion. ( if that seems a rather ignorant statement so be it, i dont own a PS3 or Xbox360 yet.)Good luck! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have no problem with smaller mods, but the big ones are always corrupted (mostly).
