naossoan
Since the workshop was released, I've been trying to use it exclusively as it's just easier to keep track of what's installed and stuff, at least for me it is. I've noticed though that a lot of people are simply not even bothering putting their mods on the workshop, and only use the Nexus. Some new examples of this are the Apachii Hair and the Angel Wings mods. The Apachii hairs one even specifically says at the bottom of the description that they don't want it to be uploaded to Steam Workshop. Is there something bad about the workshop that I'm missing? With the search feature there now at least it makes it a bit easier to rummage through all the mods. Is it mainly out a loyalty and familiarity since the Nexus sites have been around since Morrowind I guess, and the people that actually produce good mods prefer to use the Nexus over the Workshop? Darksun45230
I believe modders are trying to save themselves the pain of hearing from people who don't follow their instructions regarding installation and load order. As of now, the Workshop doesn't sort mods that well and is often the leading cause of crashes.
pwnedbyscope
the general consensus is that most mod makers dont like the steam workshop therefor dont use it, and ultimately its up to them weather to use it or not
JanusForbeare
@ OP: You're right when you suggested that it was mainly due to loyalty to the Nexus (Or PlanetElderScrolls, or whatever site). There has also been concern over Steam/Beth's attempts to monetize user-produced mods. Many people (myself included) are concerned about how this might affect the future of our community, and prefer to upload their mods to 3rd party sites like the Nexus. Since we already have a perfectly sound distribution method in place, very few of us see the need for the Steam Workship.
jimhsu
Most beta mods / modding resources / script libraries, I leave off Steam Workshop to save confusion. Partly because I don't have nearly enough time to deal with thousands of people that don't know how to install / clean save / etc properly, and the users at Nexus are at least slightly more knowledgeable. Still when things become final or stable, I do try to put it in SW. Definitely for anything that uses SKSE / Script Dragon / similar 3rd party extension, I'm absolutely sure not to put that on SW, as it will simply not work. 1337R0xx0r
I don't like it, if it's the other way, Mod on Steam workshop but not on Nexus. I don't like steam workshop, it's good for newbies but if you want controll over your mods, loadorder, updates... Nexus mod manager is a lot better.
