bridoscot
Hey all, Righty I've just started trying to run Fallout 3 on my PC and I'm having a hell of a time getting it to work. I'm running it with a few mods (which I'll list shortly) and basically I can play it for between 3-5 minutes before it locks up and I need to kill it via task manager. I've tried editing the .ini file to solve the issues with running it on multi-core pc's and its had no impact. I'm trying to run the following mods: FWEProject Beauty Game Companion Fallout 3 ReanimatedFallout 3 RedesignedFelloutGNR Enhanced RH Iron sightsWeapon Mod Kits Now I'm not aware of any of these particular mods clashing with one another in such a way that would cause the game to crash? My load order (in the vain hopes I've just got something in the wrong order) is: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmBrokenSteel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmRH_IRONSIGHTS.esmEnhanced Weather - Rain and Snow.esmCRAFT.esmCALIBR.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esmEnhanced Weather - Rain and Snow in Fallout.espEnhanced Weather - Radioactive Rain and Snow Plugin.espEnhanced Weather - Weather sound in Interiors.espEnhanced Weather - Sneak Bonus during Storms.espEnhanced Weather - REBOOT.espRH_IronSights_RemoveReticule.espRH_IronSights_Basic_VanilaPlugin.espRH_IronSights_PL_NewItems.espRH_IronSights_PItt_NewRifleSights.espRH_IronSights_Basic_ZetaPlugin.espRH_IronSights_Basic_PointLookoutPlugin.espRH_IronSights_Basic_BrokenSteelPlugin.espRH_IronSights_Basic_AnchoragePlugin.espWeaponModKits.espFellout-Full.espGNR Enhanced.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced (BrokenSteel).espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (automatics only).espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers.esp I've tried various tweaks of having DLC enabled/disabled but that doesn't seem to make much difference. I also have activeinstaller running and I've checked things through BOSS and it gives me a couple of Bash tags but no errors  Any help or advice would be warmly received! M48A5
Have you been able to run the game without mods? If the game will start and play, start adding the mods one at a time and try to play the game. When you reach the point where the game crashes, that is your problem mod. That and your load order is not correct. You have to read the read me that comes with the mod and/or the discription page for the mod. Load your FWE in the same order as the fallout.esm that it modifies. Choose which restore tracers you want to use. There is a mod for all tracers and one for automatic weapons only. Just like it says. bridoscot
Yea the game will run without mods and I had a play with a couple of the things you've suggested, first off yea I noticed that conflict with the tracers as soon as I typed it and tried it with neither and either or and unfortunately it yielded the same results. The game seems to run a lot lot better without FWE which kinda sucks as its the 'big' mod I was looking for but I'm still getting the occasional (say one every 15/20 mins) crash. I'll try putting FWE back on and edit the load order so it mimics the Fallout3.esm and see if that yields positive results. Thanks for the reply bud :) Brido
M48A5
A crash every 15-20 mins is not right. You either do not have a good install or your equipment will not run Fallout 3 properly. I play of hours without a problem. Also, try rearranging the FWE esp's into the same order as your Fallout 3 .esm's
davycrockett
I'm no expert but id say your load order needs a little tweaking first thing i notice is you appear to be missing FWE-RH_IS-bridge then you have the FWE DLC ESP's the DLC ESM's but no fellout DLC ESP's plus you have enhanced weather id suggest dropping either fellout or enhanced weather i had a bad time running them both kept crashing around the satcom arrays for some reason then id re-order those mods put FWE higher up just beneath the ESM's then the RH_IS files under FWE get the bridge file i mentioned before load that under RH_IS files then any weather mods always last in your load order
BlackRampage
Now I'm not aware of any of these particular mods clashing with one another in such a way that would cause the game to crash? You might not, but I am. Have a look: FOIP And, like davycrockett mentioned, you're missing the Fellout DLC support patches and it's indeed better to put weather mods (such as Fellout and Enhanced Weather) as low as possible in your load order.
