Hello, I have been playing oblivion for a while, and I recently installed some mods. My saves crash whenever I load them, and I can't get it to work. My mods are 1. Akatosh mod(dragon mount)2. All DLC,KOTN and SI except for Battlehorn 3.Dangersense 4.Frostcrag Reborn 5.OBMM 6. Capes and Cloaks. Help is appreciated. P.S. I installe OBSE and Deadly reflex and Aurums magic mod, and those don't work either. This only happened a day or two ago, until then it worked fine.I also can't start a new game, it loads till the very last part, then doesn't load. It still runs, but won't load.

Your load order list is useful, please post it the same way it is (you can use the OBMM export load order to do this)

But there are some things that can be advanced for now. First of all you must assure you are starting the game 'via' OBSE loader instead Oblivion.exe. Second, assure the HorseCombatMaster.ESM from Deadly reflex is loaded and activated (even if you don't want horse combat) since it's absence is known to crash the game at start.

After this point is better to wait more detailed informations.

Thanks. My load order is:

DLCFrostcrag.esp

DLCHorseArmor.esp

CapesandCLoaks.esp

DLCOrrery.esp

zDangersense.esp

DLCThievesDen.esp

DLCVileLair.esp

DLCMehrunesRazor.esp

DLCSpellTomes.esp

Knights.esp

Akatosh Mount By Saiden Storm.esp

DLCShiveringIsles.esp

I downloaded OBSE to C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data, but I can't find it. I uninstalled Deadly Reflex till I can fix the OBSE problem. What should I do to fix my load order,OBSE,and my crashing problem?

OBSE must be installed at the Oblivion root folder, I mean directly on C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/ in your case. Use the function "view Load Order' of OBMM to copy and paste, as you are lacking ESMs in the list above. I'm seeing the SI ESP at the end of the load order, and I'm asking myself if you patched the game to the last official path that is 1.2.0416

Edit: OBMM and OBSE are not mods, they are what is known as utilities, and both are to be installed at the /oblivion directory, not /Oblivion/data

Alright, I will reinstall OBSE to the root folder. The Esm is at the top, right before Frostcrag. I'm not on 1.2.0416, I'm on 1.4.0 something. Thanks for the help so far.

Edit:I installed OBSE to C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion, where is it, and how do I open Oblivion with it?

1.4? so I'm the one needing to actualize :)

As to launch Oblivion with OBSE you need just to launch OBSE_Loader.exe instead Oblivion.exe or OblivionLauncher.exe

I don't have anymore DLCShiveringIsles as ESP since it was merged with Oblivion.esm (And honestly I don't recall if this is done by the official patch or some mod) Anyway, SI must come first in the load order, before all those other esps.

For this patch 1.4, I'll look for something about this, but I think there are some mistake at some point here.

Midas and some others mods will not even work without the game patched less then 1.2.0416. IF there is a new patch, it is so new I missed it completely, 'maybe' those mods will work with it, maybe they will need a patch for they selves.

I think I can take it from here. Thanks a ton Nosisab!

I really want to help if I can, and the last patch is actually 1.2.0416 (I searched for this as Beth could have launched a new one).

But you are right, once OBSE is in the correct place, all there seems will work without troubles. Yet I suggest you downloading the Unofficial patches (to oblivion itself and to the DLCs too). You will find then here in TESNexus.

See ya

One more question, how do I launch it as OBSE_Launcher.exe rather than oblivion.exe?

You can make a copy and place it at desktop assuring it being copied as shortcut. Or an yet better idea you can download another utility named "The OBSE Launcher" since it will place together several nice features. It can launch Oblivion with and without OBSE, the Construction Set with and without OBSE, other utilities as OBMM and "Character Manager" (maybe you want look at this one too). It will allow you to activate or deactivate ESPs to testing purposes (to modify order OBMM yet is a must have), and at one only place.

All you will need is inform the paths of the related utilities, but this is simple navigating toward it, very userfriendly.
