MightyZ0G
To answer the OP because the writing is terrible and beth doesn't care. The next fallout game if they ever make one should have multiple starts each from a different location with a much better story. maybe some part of the world didn't get frozen in time for the sake of terrible writing and bad story telling skills. it doesn't need multiple starts, it just needs a coherent plot with multiple ways to complete quests. dragonslayer2k12
Oh yes we need multiple starts because the same start again and again is super boring. Imagine if you could start as a member of the BoS or the institute or the railroad or the gunners or whoever. There could be a starting area where you go on some missions as a member of the faction and depending on your choices in those missions you end up in different places of the main map area then start the main quest and all the different starts can intersect the main plot in the same key areas but have some interesting details to go along with that. They could have written a much better story than run out of the vault to find someone and they could have left that allegory political crap out of the game too. Writing the BoS as conservatives to bash on was really pathetic of them. When games don't have allegory crap shoved into them the entertainment value is much higher. With fallout new vegas the railroad was about freeing human slaves but with fallout 4 oh boo hoo think of the poor robots... the player is not going to be gushing over saving synths it just feels like an empty cause now if it was other humans that would be different. Maybe the plot could have been about stopping the institute from taking humans before they were killed and replaced by synths. There is a lot to do in this game but the writing is so boring and bad it all feels like a giant waste of time except to try out new weapons and major mods or overhauls. Skyrim feels like oblivion now I just can't be bothered with it anymore. We need a new game that doesn't suck and all we are getting is the same game in "VR" oooooh waaaaw pfffffttt!!!!!! and some more allegory crap shoved into the next wolfenstein game. The best thing for beth to do is reboot the game and write a really good story telling us all about this alternate USA and how things went so wrong, give us all the juicy details and the drama with some convos between the player and the secret members of the enclave or whatever other factions are really responsible for starting WWIII. Tell us all about it with a good story and logical game design leave out the allegory crap so we can finally escape that crap for a few hours here and there as we are already bombarded with it constantly every day. They should hire all new writers that have never had anything to do with a fallout or skyrim game and don't have any political chips on their shoulders. MightyZ0G
what it really needs is an end to leveled lists.make areas inaccessible by putting strong enemies there.give quests a story.look at all the little stories hidden on terminals that are full of detail. then when it comes to a quest we get a generic "go there. kill everything. (optional) pick something up. return to quest giver".why couldn't they form all those details, that a large percentage of players ignore or miss, into quests that give you a fuller sense of the world around you? Most games use a form or level list randomization, it's be a poor move to remove them.
MightyZ0G
but the LL is a little silly.if enemies get better as you get better, what is the point of getting better?the point of leveling up is to be able to beat the enemies that were too tough earlier in the game. having their level linked to yours makes leveling up pointless. in an extreme example, if you had a character with low endurance and you never took any perks that boosted HP, a rad roach could kill you quicker when you were at level 100 than it would if you were at level 1.how does that make any sense? I suppose it's because when I started playing RPGs there weren't any leveled lists.enemies didn't magically get better because I had. I do concede that LLs can be used constructively to make sure that certain bosses are at a level relative to the player for reasons of plot, but not every single enemy. jdkzombie
Lack of Leveled List would make for a s#*! game honestly. This isn't a Linear game, and it certainly isnt like WoW where you vastly out gear and level the starting area, because you literally NEVER GO BACK THERE. Whereas with Fallout, you are always going everywhere, many many times. I like being challenged where ever I go. I'm lvel 208, and still get my ass handed to me by Super Mutant Overlords with my mods I have installed, because these assholes get Darwin M134 Miniguns.
