Foxie01
Hey guys. I just wanted to know which Oldrim mods work on the Skyrim Special Edition out of the box? I ask because atm I still play Oldrim but I maybe wana switch over to SSE. There are many mods still that I wouldn't wana play without and that are not yet ported over. I know that mods that rely on SKSE won't work but I'm not talking about these mods. The mods that I would wana use are for example : fire hd effects, vivid landscapes-castle volkihar and immersive and customizable Castle Volkihar. Can sb please Tell me if mods like this would work on the new Skyrim? Thx Edited July 29, 2017 by Foxie01
IsharaMeradin
Almost every mod would need some kind of conversion in order to work. Whether it is simply re-saving the ESP in the 64-bit Creation Kit, running the meshes through SSE Nif Optimizer, or ensuring that the textures are saved in the correct format(s). Unless a mod author indicates on their mod page that their mod can work as-is with SSE, assume that there will need to be some amount of conversion. The only type of mod from original Skyrim that I know which can work directly out of the box on SSE are script only replacers that do not use SKSE or are written to skip SKSE functions when not present. My wood chopping to max carry weight and random mining mods are examples, tho I went ahead and uploaded SSE pages.
