EverChosen97
Question is pretty much in the title. Have they just completely shifted their focus towards WOTNM? I'm a bit put off of downloading it because most of the weapons are a bit too modern/Lore-unfriendly for my tastes or are just high resolution duplicates of vanilla weapons with different mods and firing sounds. So I instead downloaded the seperate weapons I wanted in my game and just merged the plugins together. Works pretty great but I've noticed that some of the weapons such as the Makarov and uzi are still using placeholder pip boy icons and have problems such as extremely loud firing sounds from a distance. Also no TTW support it seems. These issues have apparently been fixed in the weapon pack so I'm guessing i'm right in my assumption? Bummer if that's true because I doubt Millenia gives enough of a crap about fallout lore to remove some of the un-friendly weapons from his pack. I'm sure alot of people alongside myself would greatly appreciate it if he did however. Edited July 30, 2017 by EverChosen97
Ethreon
Yea, 100% both millenia and most people don't give a crap about your supposed lore and won't remove anything. Since you know how to merge you can try to remove the unwanted stuff from leveled lists and see if that does it.
EverChosen97
Its not about my lore but the official lore. Thanks for the 'friendly' reply. Will give it a go
cordelionreaver
Fallout Lore is odd with weapons. Fallout 2 had P90s, HK CAWS, Pancor Jackhammers. All those are fairly modern. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_2_weapons
GimmeBackMyMoney
...not to mention, the Bozar (which was originally intended to be a heavy sniper rifle) is based on the Barrett M82, and then you've also got the G11 and the XL70E3 (SA80/Enfield L85 series). That's also why the Fallout Tactics weapons in CFWNV don't at all bother me. Fallout 2, touted as the best game in the series and a centrepiece for Fallout lore, has plenty of modern weapons (and for that matter, silly elements, but I don't want to digress). I'd totally use WotNM but I'm close to completing my personal mod with my custom tweaks. With all the balancing I've done with CFW, PN Equipment, WMX Modern and some of Decer's SWP weapons AND the changes I've made to the respective weapon spawns having re-integrated many into the game, throwing yet another weapon pack into the mix would be a nightmare for me. But who knows, I might cave one day. That pack is VERY tempting. To answer OP directly, straight from the mod page: " It was designed from the ground up to enable the community to make their own support patches, compatibility patches, or to complement it with their own mods as a resource. An emphasis was put on compatibility and modularity, so hopefully we succeeded in this area." It doesn't seem likely. EverChosen97
Thats pretty much what I'm going off of Cordelion  . The only modern weapon in fallout 1 was the Deagle. Fallout 2 and tactics introduced a lot more real world weapons from the 1950's-1980's (don't quote me on that I'm not a SUPER massive gun enthusiast). Makes sort've sense for weapons from that time to be around still, because of the rapid advancement of Nuclear technology that most Governments like the US would have eventually switched their main focus from Firearms to energy weapons after enough time had passed. I've downloaded WOTNM and managed to remove a bunch of the weapons from the leveled list except for the ones I wanted to keep like the AK-47, makarov, m9, M4A1 (might remove that one depends on how its balanced), Ithaca, H&K CAWS, AUG, M14, UZI and Jackhammer, all of which appeared in previous fallout games at some point. I've also renamed them to fit in more with the naming scheme of NV. Wasn't as hard as people make it out to be honestly, just tedious. If I knew how to make a patch I probably would release it myself with permission :geek: Edited July 31, 2017 by EverChosen97
