SOE and USO Compatibility

FWIW a patch shouldn't be needed to use SOE and USO together. i understand things work a bit different on PCs than they do consoles but i used them both at the same time on my xbox without any issues whatsoever. haven't used USO on my pc yet since i've seen people say using both the nexus and beth.net for mods can cause issues but i will try to explain how USO is set up in order to clarify things a bit.

USO was initially made for ps4 users and with sony's mod restrictions in mind. this means it can't use a script injected menu. with the popularity of OCDecorator on ps4 in mind, AndrewCX knew it wouldn't be a good idea to add the USO menu directly to the main workshop menu and instead decided to edit the Raider menu since there are few mods that change it (several that add items to the raider menu but that won't cause problems with USO)

so basically the USO menu replaces the Raider menu, although all the original items from the Raider menu can still be found within the USO submenus. USO also moves ALL vanilla workshop items to the USO menu.. it takes a little getting used to and figuring out where everything is, but it's also a great way to cut down on workshop menus becoming too cluttered.

if USO is the only mod you're using that changes the workshop/adds items to it, you won't have any of the vanilla menus AFAIK, and all you'll see is the USO Integrated menu. items or menus added by other mods will still be in their original places. for instance with SOE, if that's the only other mod you're using, you'll see structures menu- SOE, furniture- SOE, decorations- display, maybe Misc., and SOE menu, followed by the items SOE adds to resources, power and defense menus, then finally the USO integrated menu at the far right.

there is a generic compatibility patch for USO that can be found on beth.net, but the only mod i'm aware of that conflicts with USO is Workshop Rearranged, and maybe Vanilla Extensions but i don't think that's the case. Also, older mods that haven't been updated in ages could cause issues. there are a few on xbox such as a mod that let's you move power armor frames and i think Lowpoly's Furniture since those mods completely overwrite the raider menu and really shouldn't be used anymore. hope this helps

Thanks for sharing. I'm starting a new build after 6 months away. Excited to see NX Pro Farming in you load order as I always liked having it. Still use it?

Also you have Armorsmith really high in your load order compared to what Gambit and others I've seen recommend. Is there a particular reason you load it there?

Some of those are there because that's the order I installed them. I also may have personal SKE patches that i can't/haven't released.

Also you have Armorsmith really high in your load order compared to what Gambit and others I've seen recommend. Is there a particular reason you load it there?

You have to remember I don't look at things the way other people do. When I place a mod I open all the mods in FO4Edit (or whatever) and I filter for conflict loosers. If I see something that needs to move then I'll move it. For the most part most mods add new records. Also most of the time the background is white and the text is black (the color scheme is in the Fallout NV Training manual), simply put-that record isn't altered by another mod and therefore, no conflict. When you don't have a conflict then load order doesn't matter.

Nice to hear from someone that actually uses the mod. I had no idea what USO changed. So the OP can now move on and will simply have to figure out what else is causing his issue since it's not any conflict with USO and SOE.
