Rabbit1251
This is the patch that breaks NMM and Wyre Bash and all the other mod managers. How does it break it? Beta 1.4.26 didn't break it and 1.4.27 only adds the "follower also sneaks properly" patch onto 1.4.26 1.4.26 and the small update of 1.4.27 details here - http://www.bethblog.com/2012/02/20/new-beta-update-available-on-steam/ I tested that but opted out of the Beta while trying it and have yet to run Steam since todays full patch came out. I don't know if you saw this article on it posted a short while ago: Load Order Rabbit
Anya29
Oh right, not having added any mods while looking at 1.4.26 I wouldn't have seen any difference as the load order wouldn't have been changed. Deleted821989User
And just as a heads up, the beta version of SKSE works. 1.4.10 and 1.4.13 both do not work for me. Which version works exactly? Edit: Nevermind, 1.4.13 was throwing a ScriptDragon error, not SKSE, derp. Edited February 28, 2012 by Guest
patney
After this patch my game freezes at startup screen... Does anyone know of a fix for this? My friend plays just fine with the same patch. I tried to deactivate every single mod, it didn't fix it.

Steam, right click the game choose properties then below.http://cdn.windows7themes.net/pics/verify-integrity-of-steam-game-cache.jpg It might be a bad update/or file. That will restore the main game files if any are missing or corrupt.

Sometimes it manages to load up until the main screen shows where it freezes again with the dragon logo missing textures. It's shiny and blue. Edit: No, a reinstall had no effect. Goddammit, Bethesda... Edited February 29, 2012 by patney
kged
That verification trick worked for me, Anya - thanks very much.
patney
I found the solution: Delete the D3D9.dll. No biggie, this just means that I have to upgrade ENBseries from 1.02 to 1.03, but it's very strange that D3D9.dll is suddenly causing the game to not work. djbeema
Broke my scriptdragon mods, so instead of being able to play today as I was very much looking forward to, I will have to wait until that gets updated.I'm not going to rage out but I really do not understand the deal with mandatory patches on a single player game. It's one of the down sides of digital distribution and all that jazz. For some reason publishers, developers, and retailers think it's absolutely necessary to force everyone to update to the latest version. Why? Why does it matter? If you are having no issues with the game you shouldn't have to update. It affects absolutely no one besides yourself.
gsmanners
I don't mind patches, but jeez. Is that everything that changed? Really? Took them all of five minutes to find and fix all of those "bugs" which have probably been reported by maybe two or three people (out of the thousands who have reported bugs a lot of real bugs). This is just lazy. Even by Bethesda's already pathetically low standards. :yucky:  :nuke:
