Beef1188
Hello everyone.I bought myself an m.2 chip for my motherboard. I am going to format my existing hard drive, but I need to migrate my Fallout 4 files to a portable drive, and then copy them back once I've reinstalled windows. I've got over 100 mods in my fallout 4 and I'm not even done yet. While I can easily move fallout 4 and the savegame on its own, having nexus mods installed makes it a bit more... difficult. I am wondering whether any of you even done something like that and have any advice on how I could approach this without losing my mod list, my mod sortings that i've done on NMM, and more importantly, losing the mods themselves. However I have the latter covered. I will simply move the entire steam folder to a portable hard drive, But I want to make sure that as far as mods are concerned, that things will be exactly as they are before format in the NMM menu. HeyYou
Don't forget to copy your ini files (in My games\Fallout4) and your plugins.txt in App Data. (hidden folder, you will have to change folder options to show hidden files/folders in order to see it.) No idea where NMM stores it's info for what is installed, in what order, and info on overwrites....... When I find myself in your situation, I usually get windows up and running, updated, all drivers installed, then actually reinstall the base game, and any other utilities, (NMM.....) then simply copy over the folder holding the original installation. That way you get all the correct registry entries, and your other programs know where to find *stuff*.... :) Getting NMM set back up? Sorry, can't help ya there. Beef1188
Getting everything moved is the easy part, what I need to do is sync up NMM with all the mods I've already installed, so I can continue removing and adding them at my leasure. I got some pretty big files there, months of testing and overwriting specific parts of my mods to get it just perfect. The problem is that I work for a living and I don't have time to get started again. In september I leave for france and I will be gone... "forever". Downsides of being in a wanted job I'm afraid.
