Prenihility
I haven't modded out the game extremely. I see a pattern here. I JUST had to $*it-can my 20+ hour save because of corruption. While playing that save, i was crashing when entering new areas. I just tried going into Frostcrag Spire. Crash. And it crashed earlier. Is there ANY surefire, best practice for crashes and stability/performance/ungarbaging this game? It's just a technical nightmare. I miss Fallout 3... Colovari
Sorry for the late reply, I understand your plight, as I know what it feels like too ): I'm not so sure about the 'best' way for optimization, but there's lots of guides out there, take a look at this maybe: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Technical_Support But I have a few questions: Which version of OR are you using? I see the "OblivionReloadedArenaCombat.esp", but afaik, I don't remember installing that last time I downloaded OR. It's also insisted in All Natural's readme to use Enhanced Vegetation instead of Natural Vegetation. And which type of 'saves do you use? I've heard overwritten, quick, and even auto saves increase crashes and whatnot. I suggest trying any of the mods listed below too if you don't haven't atm: Oblivion Stutter Remover MoreHeap EngineBugFixes 4gb Ram Patcher CTD and Memory patch ENBoost (incompatible with ENB) NVAC - New Vegas Anti Crash (yes, this really works with oblivion, check the desc) Clean up Fast Exit Edited August 17, 2017 by EdgewardTheWackPrince
Prenihility
Well, i've since nuked that save. It turns out the save was corrupted. I had an old save of a different character. Been playing for hours (for a couple of days) and it only started crashing now. The other save crashed the same way. In Rockmilk Cave and entering a different area. It's irritating. Idk why it's doing this. When i started my other character over again after deleting that save i haven't seen a single crash since. I wonder how many overwrite saves it takes to mess up your game. Because on this other older save that i went back to. I think it may have a few... Omfg. Also. Stutter and noticeably slowdown when traveling on horseback. I think i'll try tweaking .ini first for that issue. But as for the crashing. Idk.. Oh and i do have fast exit. LFact
Never, ever overwrite your save, nor rely on autosave and quicksave(Though it's okay to delete quicksave after loading it...). This game is prone to save corruption and crash when you overwrite one save file over and over.
Oblivionaddicted
Did you check for dirty mods using Wrye Bash? Did you check for your mod conflicts?
