Doodlecute
Hello, I’m looking for a couple of mods that may or may not exist. Okay so first of all I just installed a bunch of new playable race mods. I love em all but when I play one I feel like I’m going extinct being the only one. I want to add these races to the world itself as NPCs. I came across a few race replacement mods but these were all specific replacements and didn’t even use any of the races I liked. Besides I don’t want to sacrifice one race for another just add more. So I’m looking for a mod that can add NPCs but draw from my mod races. They don’t have to be all that developed just enough to show there’s more than one of these races. If that is not possible, or just too big a project, how about a race change spell? That would allow me to change just a some individuals rather than mod out an entire race. But it would have to allow race selection when used. I don’t just want to create more of myself but I want to create more diversity in the world itself. The second thing I’m looking for is a couple of body replacement mods. I already used the HGEC Body with BBB v1dot12 and RobertMaleBodyReplacerV52. I like these for most the races but not all. I like my orcs to be muscular regardless of gender and my elves to be slight, even femboyish in the case of the males. Is there a mod that will let me alter these races without affecting the bodies of the others? So those are what I’m looking for. Do any of you know anything that comes close? If not then pretty please to all modders could you make something? Especially the first one, it would be amazing.
LFact
- All replacer can replace only one texture/mesh at a time, like you cannot use Qarl's Texture Pack with other texture replacer for Cyrodiil(the latter will always overwrite the former). Same to the body replacers. You can use only one body type per gender normally. I said 'normally', because this game cannot assign body mesh to race. A few people revised some ways to overcome this, but it involves some kind of tricks via scripting. 'Set Body' used clothing trick(in this game, wearing something means replacing body parts with clothing/armors) to give individual body shape when actor is 'naked'. It works anyway, though it gives nude mesh as unplayable clothing pieces to actors to make it work. Later, shadeMe released OBSE plugin 'Blockhead', which allows you to assign individual meshes and textures per race or per actor in specific way. You won't need classic clothing trick to give actors unique body shape in this way. If you want to give actor different body shape in-game, check 'Set Body Reloaded Blockhead Edition'. - However, even if you can give any actor any body shape, you can still use only one type of clothing/equipment replacer. As I said earlier, wearing clothes/armor means replacing actors' body parts with clothes/armors. So you can see your B-cup size girl becomes H-cup size when she wears clothes/armor for H-cup. The scrawny guy will become body builder just by wearing bulky armor, and vice versa. Perhaps you can add more clothing/armor items to give, but considering how many body shapes are around here(TES modding communities and personal sites/blogs), it's not practical. Oblivionaddicted
-To add your new races among the generic NPC's you'll need to create some NPC's of the custom races and add them to leveled lists -About your second request I remember seeing a topic where someone explains you can use more than one body replacers at a time but I don't remember its title. Doodlecute
Unfortunately I don't know how to make a mod. Do you know any good tutorials for making an NPC?
Oblivionaddicted
It's not complicated. To do it the easy way, take a pre-existing NPC, change its editor ID and all the things you want, when you close the NPC's menu click yes to create a new version. To insert a NPC in a leveled list do a drag-and-drop.
LFact
If you're going to make an NPC of custom race, I'd recommend to install and use Construction Set Extender. It will make your life easier when you make a new mod or edit existing mod having .esp master.
