RobertHowsham
I too have a CTD problem that seems to be a result of the latest patch. In my case it occurs near the end of the "Wolf Queen Awakens" quest, specificaly when Potema's spirit passes through the door after the penultimate battle in the catacooms. I have had four CTDs at this point, but none elsewhere. Prior to the last patch I was able to complete the quest without problem.
boboteabaggins
I'll throw my two cents in here, well with inflation it should be 30 cents, different issue. Yes I am having crashing probelms as well. Hell I totally started with a new fresh NMM, Steam and Skyrim and still crashing WITH no mods. Its the update. Hell I totally started with a new fresh NMM, Steam and Skyrim and still crashing WITH no mods. Its the update. I agree.....After days and days of looking around on the net, running Skyrim on multiple PC's and at multiple settings (with mods, without mods), I rolled back one of my computers to run it without the newest update...And guess what? No CTD.....All my old saved games worked too. It seems as if there is something there that just makes it unreliable...
Ianana
I agree too. Did not have CTDs with 1.4.21. I could game for hours. I have 40 plugin mods installed and lots of replacer and texture mods as well. Never had issue with CTDs from the base install until...now. SInce the Load Order change I have had nothing but CTDs. I use BOSS, NMM, Bash. I also have tried to manually order my mods to see if I could get it stable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all my mods. I have the latest SKSE and Script Dragon. All was good before 1.4.27. It has gotten so bad that the longest I have been able to play is 35 minutes before a CTD. Most of the time it happens within 5 minutes. I can not load some of my saves unless I load a save and then load another save from it then I can load it. I am familiar with load order and the problems that it can cause since I spent countless hours in Oblivion getting stable. I just do not think that the new load order process is perfected. I only can hope that as NMM, Bash and such get more familiar with it that they can make better use of BOSS to help us more in this. Why does it always have to turn to modders and outside programmers to fix these things for Bethesda. Most of my troubles with Oblivion were fixed by these modders and programmers too. Unofficial patches and mod patches...Add to this Steam and that just add one more layer of issues. We have a very strong community and I know that it will get fixed. But for now I have no confidence in this new patch it has caused more issues than it solved. At least for me.I would roll back to 1.4.21 but I did not back up the launcher.exe. I had everything else...Shoot. I guess I will wait it out. Maybe play Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3 and then Skyrim will have another patch to try.... Unless you backed up your system, there is no way to roll back to a previous version after you downloaded the update?
