lxlslashlxl
I'm trying to convert a custom human female hair to a male human hair. Not sure how to go about it. I've tried renaming the .mdb from p_hhf_hair152.mdb to p_hhm_hair152.mdb (overwriting a male hair model), but the model doesn't appear ingame, only showing a bald hairstyle. Any tips on how to get this done? Thanks!
4760
You'll also need to reskin it to the p_hhm skeleton. I don't know if mdbconfig (which you can get at http://www.nexusmods.com/neverwinter2/mods/1027/?) will be able to do it: it shows the current skeleton name, and allows you to change it, but I'm not sure it will suffice. I personally use 3ds max.
lxlslashlxl
Thanks for the response. I have 3DSMax and MDBConfig, but I'm a complete novice with both (in fact, I'm new to NWN2 in general). Are there any guides on how to attempt this with either MDBConfig or 3DSMax? I've been unable to find any, so far. Edited August 26, 2017 by lxlslashlxl
Tchos
In NWN2, renaming a file has to be done through something like MDBConfig, and not just as you would normally rename a file, even if you're not changing its skeleton. MDBConfig would be the most straightforward way, since it has a special "hair" setting. If it works to change it to use the male skeleton, then first open up a male hair model to see what skeleton file it uses. It would be one of the fields displayed. Then open the female hair, change the skeleton to the one in the male file, and save the file with a filename matching the naming convention for the male hair (just with a higher number.) lxlslashlxl
Thank you for the help, guys. I was able to get it working by changing all of the MDB fields in MDBConfig to reference HHM instead of HHF, and changing the skeleton from "Armature" to HHM_Skel". Much appreciated!
