I'm actually new to PC gaming in general. I've installed some mods into my game using Nexus Mod Manager mostly graphical and audio mods with some weapons and homes, most of them are working but when I download and enable some of them there are no plugins for them in the plugin section therefore they aren't working in game. The mods that aren't working are

silent ui
Towbie's Realistic weapon sound overhaul
Full Dialogue Interface
Real HD Face Textures
Enhanced vanilla Bodies NeverNude Male
The Eyes of Beauty Fallout Edition
P.A.M.S - Power Armor Movement Sounds - PAMS Light

And these weapons are appearing in plugins but are invisible in game which is odd because I installed a rifle the same way and it worked fine

The M9 Standalone Pistol
M9AI Standalone pistol

Before I started I watched gopher's videos on how to edit the ini files and use Nexus Mod Manager and I think I followed the instructions correctly. Does anyone know what could be causing these problems and if so could you please give some suggestions for how to fix them, thank you.

Most of what you listed are replacers to sounds or textures or changes to the UI and therefore don't have an esp file associated with it. So you won't see them listed under the plugins. They should be working in game. If you're using the Eyes of Beauty Author's pick, then that's a replacer as well without an esp. The other EoB file options do have an esp; so if you're using one of those, then yeah that should be showing in your plugins.

No idea about those pistols, but reading some comments in Bug forums of the M9, it seems you're not the only one with that issue. Looking at the file structure structure of his mod, looks like he placed some textures in the wrong folder. Don't know about the M9A1. He has an optional version that's packed into ba2 instead of loose. That version might work better for you...or the other way around if you downloaded the option already.

Some mods will not show up in the plugin list, however, what called my attention is that the M9A1 is not showing in your game .... if you are new to PC gaming ( I started to play in PC one year ago so I am kind of new too ), I recommend to do this :

- Play your game without any mods at least till you get to the city and discover some places. You want to find out if your game ( vanilla ) is running as it should, what fps are you getting in the most heavy areas, etc.

- Install some mods, perhaps 5 - 10 and see how you game behaves. Do not install a bunch at the same time because if your game start to CTD, you won't be able to know which mod is causing the problem, that is the whole idea.

- You won't be able to know which mods you like in one play through .... you need to realize that you will re-start this game probable several times ( from scratch ) before having a solid idea what mods you like according to your play style or what you want to do in the game, so be patient and I recommend to write down or create a spread sheet with all the mods that are running ok and you like the most

- I do not know how powerful your rig is but not matter how good your video card is, you will have fps drops and sometimes CTD's ... accept this and you will not get frustrated

- There are some players that have played this game with no CTD's at all but they know exactly how to handle FO4Edit and how to patch the game ..... I do not know since it is not something that simple .... so, if we do not know how to do that, our best shot is to make sure that we at least, do this :

a - Clean your game files via FO4Edit

b - Use LOOT to sort your load order ( it is a very good tool ) but pay very close attention to what the mod description says and follow the author' suggestion about load order and compatibility

c - Once you sort your order and you are sure about your mods, do not touch them, do not delete them, do not move the load order and try not to add a mod mid game. There is a video that I recommend you to watch, it is located in the War of the Commonwealth mod in the description section ( middle of ); once you watch it, you will have a better idea on what to do.

d- Again, you won't be able to know what mods to play with, till you probably try several times and you probably would have to restart the game several times ( I have started it probably 6 times already in one year )

e - If that happens, is better to go nuke : delete all and start from scratch ... if you need help on how to do this, let me know ....

- Realize that this game engine is not that friendly and no matter what we do, we will have issues, like fps drops and CTD's .... so far, in my current play through that I started a week ago, I have had only 1 CTD in 20 hours play ... and I know which mod is causing it but also I know it is expected because the author of this mod did advise it will happen ... but at the same time, there is a way around and by following his instructions, I have been able to avoid a CTD in the last 8 hours .. the mod is WOTC ( War of the commonwealth ) which it is a very heavy mod but at the same IMHO, the best out there ( so far ) to enhance your combat. The author of this mod is creating a new one but it will not be available till probably end of the year.

- I only have 63 mods and 80 plugins .... I am very selective in my mods and for your information I do not have any texture mod since they apply globally and affect fps ... I have enough stress for my rig with WOTC ... and by the way, my game graphics are superb ( if you want to know what did I do to gain this, please let me know ) ..

- Regarding what mods to install, that will depend on your own play style and what you need to do in your game ... but there is something that you need to pay attention to : install first those mods that have been downloaded and endorsed the most by the community ... they have been tested already and most likely they are working as they should .... read the mod description and the posts and have an idea on what to expect !!

- I would recommend not to install mods that you can get the same result via console commands, for example : carry weight mod ... if you type a console command you can carry as many pounds as you like and you won't need that mod .... this is what I do because the more mods you have installed, the more chances of fps drops and probably CTD's .... IMHO, there is no reason for me to have a mod that will let the vendors to have more caps when I can type a command and have a million caps in my pocket ... do you see my point ? Again, this is my personal preference and you do not have to do as I do ...

- If you already added what Gopher's advised, that is all that you need to add to your FalloutPrefs.ini and Custom.ini .... you will see that some mods are advising you to add other lines .... BE CAREFUL ... they are not longer necessary and you will screw with your .ini files if you add those lines .... ask questions in the mod forum ( posts ) ... for example, Scrap Everything mod ( which is a great mod and essential for me ) is advising you ( twice ) to add some lines to your .ini files ... I asked the author directly and he answered not to because it was not necessary anymore but the suggestion is still displayed in his mod description ... bottom line, do not add more lines to your .ini files. I have not ( except what Gopher' suggested ) and my game is running as it should. UNLESS it is a new mod and the author is advising to add that line, do not do it. Old mods have not been updated by the authors. Probably I could be wrong but my point is that I need to be sure that I am doing the right thing.

Be patient, be careful and observe the results and go from there. Ask questions and read posts and forum. Trial and error. Let us know.

Cheers ...

Thanks guys I will take your advice in the future but the reason I assumed all of the mods that are not in the Plugins are not working is because I know two of them are not and those are Silent UI I disabled the XP sound and its still there. The other mod is Full Dialogue Interface the full lines of dialogue are there but the interface hasn't changed, first I thought I chose the wrong option but I went back and made sure I pick the correct one and still no change.

I do have the LOOT tool and as far as my graphics card for the textures, its a 1080ti. I tried installing all my mods at the start of the game just after leaving the vault maybe I should remove these mods that I think aren't working, reload to that point and play further into the game to see if the rest of the mods are working though considering I played this game on console for years I'm not sure if id know whether its a graphics mod or just looks better because I'm on pc.

With Full Dialogue Interface, just checking that you made the changes they mention on the front page to your Fallout4Custom.ini to the Archive section? I personally kept the original interface but I see others on the forum having the issue you are. But if you're seeing the dialogue changes, at least you know the mod is working. FO4 has been updated since that mod was released so it might be related to newer updates. Heard the most recent update messed up a lot of mods, so I play with Steam offline to avoid forced updates.

I never used Silent UI, but I do use Silence, which seems to have similar features without the esp that Silent UI has. Just be certain to click Yes for any overwrites. If you want to remove the combat music, you can try Dynamic Music Overhaul.

Texture mods you can safely remove and put back on if you want to just log in and see what it looks like without to do some comparison to be sure you are seeing changes.
