Mr3ppozz Posted September 2, 2017 Share Posted September 2, 2017 Hi everyone,I was happy to see that the new version of f4se was online, so I downloaded the installer (and the 7zip) and installed it.When i launch the loader it gives me an odd error i've never seen before... not quite like the error after the game update, but it does refer to the previous game version. Did i do anything wrong? Or is this something that simply can happen...The error stops the bootup of the game, although it does place a "Fallout4.exe" in my Task manager -> Processess Simply trying to use the loader again, gives me the same error, but somehow the game does start... But when it reaches the main menu screen its a plain CTD and nothing else happens... Hope anyone can help me, im still able to play the game, but am missing a lot of my assets and a bunch of mods are half, barely or non functional :P Thanks in advance for any information anyone can give me :)Kind regards,Mr_3ppozz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mr3ppozz Posted September 3, 2017 Author Share Posted September 3, 2017 Updated Looksmenu... It indeed removed the error, but im still getting a CTD the moment I enter the main menu of the game. I'll boot a cleaner version after uninstalling and disabling a bunch of mods and start activating them one by one, since im guessing its a conflict in some mod that still has the old version loaded in it... Mr3ppozz Posted September 3, 2017 Author Share Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Shame, have to do a clean install and remove and reinstall all mods to get this working, since after disabling all mods ingame, saving and resaving a dozen times and removing all other mods (that didnt come with a uninstall chem) it still gives me a CTD when it enter main menu... If anyone finds a working solution for it, it might be welcome for others (and even me, if its before i get to do a clean install :tongue: which i will do some time tomorrow evening :tongue: ) Thanks for pointing me to the blatant fail i made with not realizing looksmenu was a mod and not an error that somehow was related to vanilla FO4 :tongue: Edited September 3, 2017 by Mr3ppozz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Telsler Posted September 3, 2017 Share Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Before you go with the nuclear option, try checking your other f4se plugins. For example, transfer_settlements.dll causes my game to ctd at main menu even though it doesn't show an error, because that mod hasn't been updated yet. GreatBizarro Posted September 3, 2017 Share Posted September 3, 2017 I updated f4se got the mods I wanted working for the most part, some still need updating and played for several hours yesterday. Tried to play this morning and it keeps crashing during the load screen, went back to a no mods profile and still crashes. If I load it without f4se it runs but I can't use the mods that require f4se. Reinstalled f4se and still the same problem. Any one having similar problems? Mr3ppozz Posted September 3, 2017 Author Share Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Yeah I can play when I use the normal game launcher but using f4se in any form simply crashes my game upon entering the main menu screen...Im going with a clean install because figuring out which mods use the f4se extension and which not... Plus finding out which are updated and which not...is going to be a hellish job xD Got 264 mods installed so yeah...not gonna be a fun chore xD :tongue:Its a simple choice of 2 bad options... figuring it out or doing a clean install and adding mods as they are updated... it cant hurt to go with the clean option in my case, ive got mods installed that i never use and some that i didnt even know i had xD so its good to do a "spring cleaning" on all the junk i have... but its simply a big big biiiiiiiiiig fault on beth's side that they managed to mess up the game so horribly with them adding mods that most of us already have or can get for free with a lot more options and attention for detail :tongue: EDIT: Telsler, ive checked the sim_settlements thingy and it did manage to load the actual main menu screen... now it only crashes to desktop when i hit continue...or load...or new game xD hahahahahahaha Edited September 3, 2017 by Mr3ppozz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
