JackSparrow1973
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows how the ini files work now I've been trying to change DefaultClassData.ini in the config file however the changes no longer appear ingame. I haven't tested on a new game and in the original Xcom it worked just fine. Is something else modifying the class abilities?
Dragon32
I'd recommend modifying this one instead: My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config\XComClassData.ini
JackSparrow1973
After some testing... I noticed the XComClassData file in My Games is actually a generated duplicate file created by DefaultClassData.ini in the game folder. I tested it and it seems the changes actually work - AFTER starting a new campaign. Which makes it VERY difficult to test. I must have replayed the first 3 levels 5 times by now only to glitch out missing a bracket here, spelling mistake there... Argh! Anyone know a way to force the game to apply the changes without starting a new campaign? Like in the original?
Dragon32
If you launch the game using the Community Mod Launcher and remove the -review command line argument that'll take you to the Developer start-up screen. You can (apparently) start a Tactical Quick Battle there. I believe you're then able to add in various troopers and enemies using the console. Not something I've used myself though. Edit: Ah, Tactical Quick Launch. A video: Edited September 7, 2017 by Dragon32
JackSparrow1973
Thanks found another solution, it seems mods work just fine so I downloaded the "Progressive Less Anarchy mod" with the simple script to load the mod and moved the XcomClassData.ini file to the folder, works fine now!
