Lucasistheman Posted April 2, 2012 Share Posted April 2, 2012 It sounds like a very good mod, I'm hoping there will be iconic WoW landmarks as I am huge WoW nerd.I do recall before Skyrim, there was an Oblivion Stormwind mod, maybe you can team up with the maker, he did cancel his Oblivion project but he might want to make Azeroth in Skyrim. The lore in wow is terrible, they completely raped the well written backstory to Warcraft 3 just to make it more sensational for the players, they bring long dead characters back to life just so players can kill them, or they end up going mad, again just so players can kill them. In FUEL, driving (!) in a straight line from one end to the other takes 1 hour and the world is procedurally generated. There is no way Nightfall or LOTRO can be 3 or 6 times larger. Being able to explore the World of Warcraft in Skyrim would be a great thing, though of course the visuals would be different. I would believe that we can make the world of Azeroth look more fantastic and mystical through Skyrim without loosing the lore and feel of it (while keeping a realistic look, mind you). Just seeing Stormwind in the glory that it is supposed to be seen, familiar landscapes with a beauty that can only be seen in Skyrim, etc. Of course I was imagining the scale to be a bit more realistic, in terms of travel and whatnot, and we don't need to have both Azeroth and the Eastern Kingdoms on one map. As long as there are no ports, and textures/meshes ripped directly from WoW in the mod, Blizzard won't have any reason to sue you. And, even if they do, the instant the judge finds out it was a silly replica of a popular game world made for other people's enjoyment at no cost, Blizzard will have officially lost the case. They can't win, as long as you aren't stealing anything from them. I'm trying to get a team together to make a mod exactly like this! LOL. WoW haters have come to the right place to put you in yer place. :thumbsup: I'm not sure what sunnie's answer really meant, neither will I tell you what it did. But what I will say in a critical way... You don't understand realistic planning either. Unrealistic pointless goals to make one game into another. 1000's of NPCs? that means 1000 people u need to make outfits for, give AI, give dialogue, at least X amount of quests and not to mention places to put them. Then there is programming and etc. Yeah. Not a one man job. Nothing you will ever complete. You may wanna start small or not at all, as this will likely leave you frustrated or burned out to the point where you quit. That is the unfortunate reality.
