Traxis glowers at Jeri. "I have told you before, if we cast in these chambers it will draw unwelcome attention. But the disguise idea is good. If only we could think of a sensible way to cover up that silver hair! Jeri, if you think an illusion will help you'd better go with him."

Telador nods. "No magic. But you all look bored beyond belief. Perhaps you can all help Zekic in one way or another."

He looks at the Benmerrion. "Could you get us into the archives from underneath?"

Before he can reply the girl, whom no one has introduced, says "I can."

Telado turns to Zekic. "These boys need some action. What would you like them to do?"

The horsemen walk towards Sammi and Kyrykki.

"If you will not come in the net, then you will have to ride with us."

Sammi looks to Kyrykki.

"Look to tell you the truth, we're looking for a friend of ours. We need speed. We have a way to make us travel at great speeds. But you will have to trust us."

Windham looks at the group in front of him, trying to figure them out. His demeanor seems almost dour at first, but, then, as the idea of someone impersonating him is broached, he seems to get a wry smile on his face that quickly turns into a broad grin.

"If you are going to try to get there, I doubt if even all of your mechanitions would fool anyone for very long. What is it you need? Let me know and I will go myself, if it is within my rights. That way there will be no magic that needs to be cast."

He turns to the other apprentices. "Well, if we're going to help, we're going to help, right?" He adjusts his dark maroon sash and looks over the room.

To Zekic, Windham, Malchik, Jeri and the other apprentices.

Telador smiles approvingly. "It is a good offer, Windham. But Zekic has refused even to tell me what he needs the archives for. He does have a lot on his mind though and could well have something else for you to do."

He glances again at the apprentices. "Let us find a way to conceal Zekic's hair that does not involve the use of magic. Then Jeri can also help Zekic in other ways."

Malchik grunts. "I didn't say I'd help anyone. If he won't tell us what he's here for why should we help?"

To Sammi and Kyrykki

The soldiers raise there weapons again. Sammi's hasty burst of air speed nearly blows them off the platform giving them a somewhat undignified exit.

By using the anchor Sammi has pinpointed Hodeini. However before you have gone far you are distracted by a huge display of coloured lights coming from behind a dune on your right. As you manoeuvre the air platform you see a very beautiful young girl fighting three heavily armed men. A very old man lies asleep or dead by her feet. Although the girl is fighting well using swirling light to confuse her attackers, she has no weapon and there is no way she will win the battle unaided. But whose side is she on?

"I don't know why Traxis is so afraid of a few tricks of the light," Jeri replies. "But if it is your wish, wizardmaster Telador, that we don't use magic, then of course we won't."

He looks at Zekic again.

"Hmm. You could cut off your hair, I suppose, but that would look odd to, maybe. Or wear some form of head dress."

He gnaws his lip, deep in thought. "Hmm. I learned something about colours, once - how you can change colours not only with spells, but also with sap from herbs. Some herbs even stain your skin. Wizardmaster Telador, I don't know much about herbs, but I'm only an apprentice. Maybe you know of something that would dye Zekic's hair?"

OOC> Zekic, you cannot cut off your hair. Like the boots you wear that have fused to the skin, it is a living part of being a Windrunner.

Zekic and apprentices.

The girl, Sylvian, says "I can get you in. I think people are worried about security patrols."

The Healing apprentice mutters "Perhaps we could put a bandage around it."

So it will be Sylvian and Telador who accompany Zekic. But Telador will not move until Zekic has set the apprentices a task.

"Is researching the Archives the only reason you have come to El Rhun?" Telador asks. "If you have anything else to look for these boys have much more experience of the city than you can have."

Kyrykki and Sammi.

The men fighting the girl have noticed you. While one keeps the girl distracted the other two draw bows and arrows. The weapons glow suggesting that they are magical.

Zekic thinks for a while and then shakes his head as if to shake off his doubts.

"Very well, you may be able to help. I have come for another reason as well. I am searching for a ... a gate to the dimension of Taragoka. What makes this complicated is that 'gate' isn't really the right word for it. In fact, I have no idea what it is. All I know is that it should be in some place that is very old." He looks the apprentices over. "Perhaps you know of some such place?"
