EmmaRebecca97
I downloaded a couple of face preset mods and a body preset mod but they're not showing up in the race menu. Does anyone know why this would be?I downloaded the mods with NMM and I have the racemenu altering mod and I've heard that sometimes that can be an issue with preset mods not loading in game but I'm not 100% sure how to get around it. Jeir
Might help if you linked the mods in question. Did you read the mod description for each to see if you've installed them correctly/there are any other steps you need to take to get them working? WastelandAssassin
how did you try to activate them?because presets don't show under the listyou need to click the 'Load' button while under the presets section , and then you'll see a list of all the presets you have installed In the case that this isn't the issue , try to make sure you've installed the mods correctlymake sure the files go to the right folder , otherwise it won't work If none of this helps , more information will likely help us help you

Jeir
That first link is a BodySlide preset. You use BodySlide to generate the meshes. It does not go anywhere in your /SKSE folder. It even has them in the correct directory in the archive, so it can simply be installed into /Data. The second link appears to change vanilla face presets into the ones in the images, if my understanding of the mod description is correct. Again, it does not go into /SKSE, as it's a plugin, not a RaceMenu preset. It goes into /Data. The third link is ALSO a plugin. Plugins do not go into /SKSE, they always go into /Data. It also requires ECE, not RaceMenu as per the mod description.
EmmaRebecca97
I've got the body slider working because I was using it through bodyslider but my pc was being stupid and saving things in the wrong place. The face mods though I've tried them both in data and in skse and they either don't show up in the game or they show up but won't load and it says there is an error
Jeir
Activate the two plugins, with ECE (not RM) installed. Open up showracemenu. It's been a long time since I used ECE, but its mod description should tell you how to select the presets, if they did not just change vanilla presets. I do remember I always had issues loading up my own presets with ECE in any case, so you would probably be better off installing RaceMenu ones instead. Berzerkernox
I saved a character I created in RaceMenu but the last 3 that I have saved are not anywhere. I don't know what happened as my characters I have saved previously are still in the folder. What information do you need in order to find the problem? Thanks. manchuligans2
I saved a character I created in RaceMenu but the last 3 that I have saved are not anywhere. I don't know what happened as my characters I have saved previously are still in the folder. What information do you need in order to find the problem? Thanks. They're in there somewhere. Check the file tree for Racemenu. Open the mod's folder, I think it's Data>SKSE>Plugins>CharGen>Presets. That file tree is where presets go, but it's not certain which mod they're saved to. They could be saved to Racemenu, or to SKSE, or to some weird folder. One method you could use is go to the folder where the your game's mods are stored, and then search the folder for 'presets' or 'chargen' in the search bar in the upper right corner of the folder window. That should find the folder. If you're using mod organizer, the newly-saved presets will be in your overwrite folder at the bottom. They need to be moved to a folder with the correct file path. You can drop them in Racemenu, but make sure that complete file tree is there. You might have to create it. I'm going from memory, so check the filetree. If you're using mod organizer, you can always create a new mod by right clicking the overwrite folder and selecting 'create a new mod'. If you do this, make sure your new mod is enabled. I've noticed whenever there's a problem with face and body presets not showing up, it's because the files aren't in the right directory.
dwharper34
how did you try to activate them?because presets don't show under the listyou need to click the 'Load' button while under the presets section , and then you'll see a list of all the presets you have installed Thanks for the tip! I have had a terrible time creating my character. I'm a 69 year old man, who decided a couple of years ago, that I would be much happier watching a naked woman running in front of me than a armored man. Since I played as a man since the game came out, every time I start a new game it thinks my character is a man. When I switch it to a woman, I get this nasty looking Nord female that I have not been able to do anything with. Getting the presets working correctly is so much better. I was so disappointed the the preset screen was empty. Thanks for telling me about loading the presets! Can I save my new preset too, after I finish editing her?
