F4SE Not functioning properly, Causes Immediate Crash, Even with No mods installed.(Current Version 1.10.20)

First off I'd like to say Hello, This is one of the few I've ever posted on the nexus forums after using them for many many years, all the way back when TES: Oblivion released on PC, and Fallout 3/NV.

So the problem I seem to be having is that, the f4se instantly crashes fallout upon boot (Link provided to show what happens when I use f4se to launch Fallout https://imgur.com/YBeMOdq ).

I've tried just about everything I can, I've disabled all mods and plugins, no change, I've reinstalled the F4SE, no change, I've completely uninstalled all mods, reinstalled fallout 4, I've cleared the f4se plugins folder to no effect, I've used LOOT to rearrange the load orders, gone through and made sure every mod is up to date, and ones that aren't had been disabled/deleted. I had all of my mods and the game working fine with the script extender as of september 12th. A windows 10 update hit that night, and when I logged off the game was still in working order.

I booted my computer today, and I went to launch fallout through the script extender to continue my current play through, which I was having a lot of fun with, (I rarely use major overhaul mods or big game changing ones, but the collection on this site is just so damn good, I had to try some of them, anyway I go to launch the game and it brings me to that imgur link above, so I start trouble shooting all of the options listed above, nothing fixes it, I've tried everything I can think of, I've made a post on the f4se subreddit looking for help, to no avail. so I come to you, to anyone who'd be willing to help me figure out what the hell is wrong, or to see if any one else is having a similar issue as I am, One person on reddit said he had been having a similar issue, here's the thread for reference, https://www.reddit.com/r/f4se/comments/6zyw76/f4se_not_working_after_windows_update_last_night/

I am at my wits end, its upsetting because I had been having a lot of fun messing around with sim settlements which I had never used until a few days ago, and war of the commonwealth which is by far one of my favorite mods that I tried out recently.

TLDR: I'm beggin ya people, someone help me figure this out. I don't know how long this thread will stay active or near the top so feel free to directly message me if necessary. once again, thank you all.

With .ini vanilla files the game launched by F4SE does not crash.
The problem is the "classic changes" to enable the mods that do not work. You probably do not have .ini vanilla files but with the changes to Fallout4Custom.ini (or the other two..) for mods.
Backup the files in My Games folder, then delete and download again from Steam.

- Antivirus disabled

- All mod disabled

- Nvidia drivers updated to the latest version 385.41

I haven't updated my drivers recently enough for it to be a problem as I was running the game fine for weeks on the latest nvidia release for my card. @ hobo Feral, and what I was saying is the game was literally working fine one night, and windows hit me with an update after I shut down, and I got on the next day, and it wouldn't launch through f4se, not trying to blame f4se, just trying to figure out why it doesn't want to launch the game. I suppose the post title could be a bit misleading, I was a bit frustrated last night lol.

@ arrtista I will give that a try, though I'd already wiped out the base fallout install and re-downloaded it through steam once before and it was still giving me the same problem. but I'm willing to try just about anything to get it working again, also my drivers are up to date as far as nvidia tells me, that version number is accurate to what I have, and as far as mods go I've completely uninstalled them and tried getting f4se to run that way and it still won't.

As mentioned

The Fix of cleaning out the .ini files at \Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ worked on my end.

I archived the .ini files, then removed all but the Fallout4.ini and within that file commented out anything in the Fallout4.ini that looked like mod additions and the game launches fine now.

My .ini file now has a load of ; semi colons starting each line in it.

This may seem dumb, But I can't find the .ini files anywhere I look. I've got fallout installed on my D drive, and obviously I looked there, I then moved to documents on C: and opened the fallout 4 folder there, and there doesn't seem to be an .ini files in the folder, now I've completely wiped out fallout 4 in every form from my system, I deleted that entire folder, reinstalled the game made a brand new character to "create" the .ini file (as I had backed up and then deleted my saves out of said folder) and still I can't seem to find it.

I admit i'm not the best at finding things like this but, from everything I've read and looked up it should be in there.

I'm just about ready to give up, like what the hell am I supposed to do? this is what the folder looks like. https://imgur.com/colyR8R

It wouldn't be as frustrating if it literally wasn't working fine just 2 days ago, and I changed and did *nothing* to the game, or the mods or anything, it just decided to stop functioning properly.

Alright I've found the .ini Files and I basically went scorched earth, wiped everything, reinstalled the game again, booted the game to create a fresh .ini and f4se *still* won't open the game, it just keeps on crashin.

I forgot to "follow" the discussion, I'm following many topics, I apologize, but maybe I should tell you first LOL, the files.ini in the game folder must be left vanilla. The files to be deleted were only those in the My Games / Fallout4 folder in Documents, only those to enable the mods should be modified, the file .ini in game folder must remain vanilla.
