Finish their tankards. "Why don't we go get something to eat. I hear they have some of the finest chiefs in all the land," said Svafa with a sweet smile on her face. Vidar nodded, he was hungry and it was good to finally go somewhere with his wife again.

The two leave their both and head for the resturant.

Being an officer I must lower prejudice. Being a monk I must help others. And being a man I must be courteous to a lady. No thanks needed. Thomas posted a note on the bulletin board in the front entrance on the new members section.

Come let us eat dinner.

Thomas sat down in the restuarant with Laraine. A waiter approached. Hello sir. Mam. I will be your waiter today. The specialtys for this week are roasted hound meat with a light kagoiti sauce. With some flin. And rat meat stew. With some flin.

said the waiter. Hhhmm. No thank you. I will have scrambled kwama eggs.said Thomas. Very good choice sir.said the waiter. And what will the young lady have?

Laraine thought absent-mindedly. Now what was it that she used to enjoy....

"I suppose I will have the hound meat....but would you add some Kanet to the grill? And no flin." She smiled at the thought of the waiter calling her 'young'. She certainly appeared that way. What kind of fools didn't know that a Vampire can never be young. Or old.

Laraine turned to Thomas, "I've had enough drink throughout my life, if you know what I mean..." she said with a wry smile.

Laraine grew visably uncomfortable. She laced her fingers nervously, silver gauntlets clinking on the table.

"Infected has such an....involuntary ring to it. My tale is not one I share frequently....indeed I doubt I have shared it at all.

It spans ages and I will not bore you with the details and intricacies of it....but....." She cleared her throat and averted her gaze to the table.

"....to explain the long story in a few short words, I fell in love with a Vampire....when I was still....alive...."

The food was set down before her. Laraine's thoughts wandered to topics she had surpressed for so long she was certain she had forgotten them. But she hadn't.

She took a peice of the grilled houndmeat on her fork. The fools had forgotten her request for Kanet.

Laraine tasted it but the savoury sauces and herbs were ash in her mouth, her mind filled with bitter thoughts.

She noticed a Nord couple sitting at a table. Laraine turned to watch them. Their obvious affection for eachother amused her. Her gaze sat on them for a while and she realized that they had noticed.
