"Block" with ranged weapon.

I was wondering if there was a way to implement a block hotkey that forced you to block regardless of what weapon you were holding. I know it sounds unbalanced but I think it would be a lot of fun to play around with.

Basically it would allow you to block with a shotgun as if you were using a baseball bat. I'm guessing limitations would probably force it to work with odd weapons like revolvers and missile launchers, but I think most would just limit to using it with rifles or other long guns.

Since it would probably involve scripting, which I'm not particularly knowledgeable about, I just wanted to throw the idea out there for someone who might find it interesting in the future.
