  1. For posterity and possibly other people with the same issue, it was a conflicting JG-based, .dll xnvse plugin that was messing up other mods. Removing it made other xnvse plugins work perfectly fine.
  2. Recently I downloaded and attempted to play with https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66666?tab=description (JAM) and https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/71618 (Samurai Floating Damage), but I'm having trouble running Visual Objectives in the former and the later does not work at all. The visual objective marker refuses to move regardless of whatever MCM option I pick and simply stays in the top left corner of the screen, regardless of where the screen moves. Not suffering from CTDs or anything similar, and simply ticking off the option disables the marker on the top left corner from appearing. Samurai Floating Damage just outright refuses to work at all, except for once where the red critical message popped in for a second while using a scoped weapon ( https://imgur.com/BQ6FJVc ) . Since both of these mods use UIO and rely on the HUD to my knowledge, I think they suffer from the same problem/conflict. I tried deleting menu files to sort out a possible conflict, but not much happened. In a previous installation of NV, Solid Project's visual objectives (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/63239?tab=posts&BH=1) were also behaving in a similar manner and I couldn't figure out how to solve it. FNV Diagnostics did not show any conflicts, and I'm already running the basic requirements for both mods. (Both Solid Project and JAM work perfectly fine except for Visual Objectives) Could anyone share any insight on the matter? No matter what I do I can't figure out for the life of me how to solve this one.
  3. Survival mod doesn't seem to be the cause, in this particular save/character or in an entirely new game since the issue eventually creeps up with it installed or not. That was my first guess too since I'm not super trusty about the CC yet but so far it never gave me much trouble. After testing for while, it seems to be somehow related to a follower mod I'm running at the time (Lucien). Apparently it bugged out in such a way where having him around as a follower would randomly cause that, but I can't for the life of me figure out why or how. So long as that particular follower is dismissed and in another cell the issue no longer creeps up oddly enough. I tested it with other vanilla and modded followers, but its specifically that one that's causing it somehow.
  4. Recently I came across a very annoying bug that I can't seem to get rid off. Every few load transitions (Load screens, fast travel, etc but not cell change outside of load screens) my character's max encumbrance will increase by 15-30, stacking each and every time. Its a non-problem at first, but it quickly and eventually reaches values of 1000+ and forces me to use SetAv, ModAV or ForceAV commands just to reduce it manually every so often. No mod outside of Survival mode (Which is seemingly working fine and disabled at the moment) modifies max carry weight on a base level (Not a "Fortify Carry Weight" Effect, but a "Set Encumbrance to" effect), and the only mods that modify max carry weight by equipment are the Creation Club Backpacks and the Bandoliers mod, both of which never gave me any trouble and aren't equipped at all. My best guess is that its some sort of script or dirty edit which is constantly looking for something and causing the actor value to go up for some unknown reason, yet neither Fallrim Tools or Papyrus Logs seem to point to any particular issue regarding carry weight. Here is my load order list on modwatch if it helps any: https://modwat.ch/u/Highwayman300 Has anyone ever came across a similar bug like this? I tried searching for solutions but I can't seem to find anything anywhere except on an old, unsolved post. My other guess is that there is some sort of replicating, invisible item equipped in my character that adds carry weight, but I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it or debug it.
  5. At the risk of necroing, I'm having this exact issue right now and I can't figure out what could be causing it either. Did you ever managed to fix it? I'm tired of having to use SetAv or ForceAV every few loads. After extensive testing it seems to happen on every load into a new cell, happening no more than once per cell. The max encumbrance modified seems to happen regardless of equipment, perks or anything related to carry weight, so it makes me lean towards a dirty edit, yet TESVEdit won't show any particular conflicts or dirty edits. Fallrim tools nor papyrus seem to show anything wrong with the save, and the stats seem to apply on a base level (directly affecting carry weight rather than adding to it) based on a few tools that review stats very simply. Here is my mod list on Modwatch if it helps any: https://modwat.ch/u/Highwayman300
  6. For whatever reason, my game is now consistently crashing to desktop whenever I successfully hit an NPC or creature with an offensive spell. Happens most often with fireball spells, but can happen with those from staves or other damaging sources. The crash is not 100% consistent, happening only about 30% of the time and occurring most often when a creature or NPC dies from the attack. I already installed ENB Boost, used any available heap boosters, running Streamline 3.1, as well as OSR. My INI files are already tweaked for maximum stability and performance, and I don't use any texture/model replacers because I know oblivion doesn't like to consume too many more resources than it already does. To my knowledge, I am not using any mods that alter spells or creature/npc behavior on hit. I'm at my wits end and I can't seem to find what could be causing this issue, any ideas? Current load order, sorted through BOSS and manually placed the few unrecognized mods according to skyrim load order guidelines: Oblivion.esm=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed.esm=1 x117race.esm=1 Chanpon.esm=1 Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp=1 UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp=1 Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp=1 DLCShiveringIsles.esp=1 Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch.esp=1 Streamline 3.1.esp=1 DLCHorseArmor.esp=1 DLCOrrery.esp=1 DLCVileLair.esp=1 DLCMehrunesRazor.esp=1 DLCSpellTomes.esp=1 DLCThievesDen.esp=1 DLCBattlehornCastle.esp=1 DLCFrostcrag.esp=1 00 Spirit Rings.esp=1 Knights.esp=1 LKF_EY_Vampirehunter.esp=1 SpicyFox_KoTNFimaleArmor.esp=1 SpicyFox_MikoOutfits.esp=1 SpicyFox_KongouDe-Su!01.esp=1 SpicyFox_Siragiku.esp=1 Notused_Leather.esp=1 adelina.esp=1 (Armor) Plate Armor Plus - Woman's Move Edition.esp=1 DuelistSet.esp=1 (Armor) Sovongarde Plate.esp=1 (Armor) EliteNoble Sets.esp=1 (Armor) Immersive Weapons.esp=1 Creature Diversity.esp=1 Anduril Reforged.esp=1 P1DkeyChain.esp=1 Disenchant.esp=1 Egress.esp=1 Magicka Regen x2.esp=1 DiabloEF 6 in 1.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Disable BandBlindMask.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Sheogorath Eye.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Vanilla Race.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Merged Hair Modules.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Merged Eye Modules.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Merged SKSRENs Hair Modules.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Merged RoseSims Hair Modules.esp=1 x117 Merged SKSRENs Hair Modules.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed CustomRace.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Chocolate Elves.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Ashara's Sirens and Tritons.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Cute Elves.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Nec Mystic High Elf Remake.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed MS Elves - NoSc.esp=1 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed ENG Race.esp=1 x117race.esp=1 x117Race ENG Race.esp=1 InariRace.esp=1 Lop-ears Elf.esp=1 Lop-ears Elf_mini.esp=1 C2 Special Combat Moves.esp=1 Balanced Creatures.esp=1 Lanterns of Tamriel.esp=1 Oblivion Scaling Unclusterf*#@ed.esp=1 LegionCombatAdditions.esp=1 LegionDSStamina.esp=1 Enemy Weapons dont drop.esp=1 Ultimate Leveling.esp=1 Bashed Patch, 0.esp=1
  7. I'm having the same exact issue although I'm not using ENB or any modded textures. The crash is semi-inconsistent as well, happening only 50% of the time when using portcrystals.
  8. I can't recall exactly what was the problem, but I know crashes on Falkreath are usually caused by a popular mod generating issues in the particular area. Problem is that its been so long that I can't say exactly what mod was causing it. You might need to go through process of elimination and disable your mods one by one while testing. Most likely it was an armor-related mod, but I can't remember very well.
  9. This has been bothering me for quite a while but I never really asked if this was normal behavior or simply something that only affects my game. In both Skyrim and Skyrim SE, whenever I look at clutter made from several, repeated objects clustered in one spot, my FPS drop significantly. The game runs steadily at 60 fps, yet this causes a constant drop in 20-30 frames. Outside of causing script issues once when testing something, it never really caused any issues besides some annoyances when looking at containers, but I really want to know what could be causing this. I have static mesh improvement installed, but I don't have anything that has to do with food or similar objects. Most of the time the issue will be apparent with things such as mod-added barrels filled with cabbages or potatoes, both items which shouldn't really have much of an effect on FPS on their own. The same happens with boxes full of static ale, but spawning 200 ale consumable bottles in a room causes no FPS drops. I'm not using any ENB or lightning overhaul either. Any idea as to what could be causing this odd behavior?
  10. Still having problems with this issue. After some more play time, I noticed that it only happens with certain NPCs and only in certain lines. The majority of Dawnguard was free from this issue, while the Dark Brotherhood's lines all have this problem. The sanctuary is constantly stuttering since the NPCs in there are always interacting with each other. A few NPCs never have this problem at all, while others have it all the time. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with the .bsa files at this point.
  11. I have the same issue with new AMD card. Same problem, although I'm using Nvidia. Riva tuner, Nvidia's V-sync, External caps and so on won't remove the screen tearing unless using borderless windowed. The only way to play without screen tearing in full screen so far has only been with Skyrim's own V-Sync.
  12. I do not know if it helps, but disabling audio drivers in their entirety didn't seemed to fix the issue at all. I'm starting to think it might not be related to audio at all. After some testing, it seems the problem is way less noticeable in Fallout 4, and only happens in that game under specific circumstances, while in SSE happens at random. Most noticeably it happens when an NPC says "goodbye", while it rarely happens before it engages in conversation. If Fraps is correct, the game loses around 5-8 frames whenever the stutter hits. The game is indeed in the HA and was defragged 3 days ago. Disck checks show no issues. I feel that reinstalling Windows is a bit too far just for one game, so if possible I would like to nail the problem before going to such extremes.
  13. How would I begin on fixing such problems? I'm not knowledgeable enough to know about codecs and coding. I haven't installed any codec packs at all as far as I know however.
  14. Apparently it could be related to audio drivers as well, although it seems I have everything updated. Realtek, Nvidia's and Intel's should be working fine. After some testing, it seems that the problem is also persistent in some other games as well, most notably Fallout 4, which shares a lot of things with special edition. What troubles me however, is that the issue doesn't seem to exist in oldrim at all unless installing heavy mods that rely on audio files such as "Interesting NPCs".
  15. After some testing, I think deleting the line didn't particularly helped with this issue, although I notice that audio lag occurs way less often now at the very least. Maybe it is related to an audio threading issue? Taking a look at the default Skyrim.INI, it doesn't seem to have any threading settings of any kind.
  16. I had a lot of problems with Ordinator as well. Seems that if your script load is too high, take too many perks with varied effects, or simply your system isn't good enough, the game will crash a lot. This was evident when I was playing Oldrim in a very low end system and NPCs used chain lightning. The game would crash all the time if NPCs had any perks that benefited from the spell. As for the issue at hand, if its not a conflict it could be a mesh error of some sort. Disabling mods that alter the environment or armor NPCs could be using might be a good place to start.
  17. It might be worth taking a look at regardless of what some other people say, but after deleting the "audio cache" line in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch INI, the problem seemed to have banished. It still needs more testing however.
  18. A lot of the times any NPC talks in the vanilla game, the game will stutter and freeze for half a second before returning to normal. The game only does this during NPC conversations, and never during anything else. Spawning actors in combat or other forms of stress testing don't seem to cause it either. It doesn't seem to be a hard drive/SSD issue as everything else runs fine. VRAM/RAM and CPU seem to be doing well, sometimes a bit low for the amount of things in screen happening at the time. The game runs at a steady 60 fps all the time. The stutter can happen whenever NPCs talk on their own with others as well. I have not made any changes to Skyrim.INI, if any are needed/recommended I would be happy to apply them. Specs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015PYZ0J6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Any help would be appreciated as I'm almost running out of options. The only time I had this issue before was when installing several large mods with hundreds of voice files in oldrim, and even then it never happened all the time.
  19. I was wondering if there was a way to implement a block hotkey that forced you to block regardless of what weapon you were holding. I know it sounds unbalanced but I think it would be a lot of fun to play around with. Basically it would allow you to block with a shotgun as if you were using a baseball bat. I'm guessing limitations would probably force it to work with odd weapons like revolvers and missile launchers, but I think most would just limit to using it with rifles or other long guns. Since it would probably involve scripting, which I'm not particularly knowledgeable about, I just wanted to throw the idea out there for someone who might find it interesting in the future.
  20. After installing and using the Walther P99 weapon mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12238/?), I noticed that my stealth was completely broken as soon as any enemy with any perception value had line of sight of my character, regardless of sneak level, perks or light level. This was supposed to happen because of a property (ArmorShadowHide "ArmorModHideInShadows") of the laser sight mod being set to -10. However, after setting the property to 0 and then removing it in it's entirety later, the effect of the laser sight persists permanently and is stuck now to this specific character, breaking stealth in it's entirety regardless of which weapon is held/equipped. So far I have tried re-installing the mod with its original values, scrapping the gun and uninstalling the laser sight mod, and adding positive armorshadow hide values to suit in order to try and counter the sneak loss to no avail. I'm getting desperate at this point and no matter what I try, nothing seems to be able to fix this character, it doesn't help that its far into the main quest. Any help would be really appreciated. Edit: Nvm, apparently somehow my ActorValue skyrocketed to 4million, causing instant detection. Using the simple command "modav" to reset the armorshadowvalue to 0 made sneak behaved like it was supposed to.
  21. Might not be your issue, but I have seen a few users having issues when using ENB's frame limiter. Apparently just enabling the fps limiter will drastically reduce your framerate instead of just capping it. Disable V-Synch and set: [LIMITER] WaitBusyRenderer=falseEnableFPSLimit=trueFPSLimit=60.0 To: [LIMITER]WaitBusyRenderer=falseEnableFPSLimit=falseFPSLimit=60.0 Make sure to download a fps limiter to replace the enb one in order to avoid havok related bugs.
  22. You can just add the elder scroll itself to skip the main quest as a temporary solution.
  23. After installing "Duel, cobat overhaul", I noticed that several combat speeds are messed up. The character will slow up to a crawl when wielding weapons, and runs at normal speed while blocking, even without the "block runner" perk. Naturally, these changes weren't welcomed (Or possibly intended) and I uninstalled the mod. I removed any and all associated scripts, and the game shows no other changes whatsoever. The only issue right now is that the combat speeds remain the same, and I am unable to fix them. Is there another mod that messes around with these combat speeds and changes them back in a way? Or do I have to do it manually in the CK? How could I do it? I have very little knowledge of the CK as it is. Any help would be apreciated, and thanks in advance.
  24. Thanks for the suggestions! Right now I am not too picky and I don't mind playing in lower resolutions. I am used to playing skyrim in a pathetic 800x600 low res textures since it came out for PC, so I don't mind running FO4 at that resolution either as long as it runs at medium settings. OS isn't an issue, I have access to several free copies of windows since my job provides them for free, and older OS are often left there for trusted employees to take.
  25. I recently been trying to build a new pc, as all my gaming so far has been done in a 6 year old laptop, (Can't even run skyrim on low at 60) and since this will be my first time building, I wanted to see if anyone was wiling to share some recommendations. Right now I am looking for something that can run some modern games at medium to high settings at least 50fps, 60 prefered, with little to no stuttering. My main focus would be skyrim (With ENB + Script intensive mods) and Fallout 4. I have a budget of about 500, but it can be expanded to 1k. I open to any suggestions, or current builds that you are currently using. I am completely new to this, so I know little to nothing about gaming builds.
