montky
its alright, codenamed1,you ask an awesome question.that idea could be quite lucrative...they say a picture or several are worth a thousand words,so, the beginners guide sticky thread is probably a lot quicker than yours truly hehe.it has picture-annotated guides too. in the meantime, that's a great idea, and I encourage you to look intowebpresence monitoring, webcrawlers, GPOP filters, RSSlivefeeds, AGI in web-browsers etc.perhaps, at ThisWeekInTech?----- For the NMM context; there is a way in the interim to get notifications of replies to comments you've made in threadsMethod: tick 'notify me of updates to this thread' in your dashboard at NMM,|NMM username at top left-hand bar screen| -> content I follow -> notify me of replies or any new message to threads I've commented on* for example, click on "CodeNamed1" under the Nexus Forums top-bar,(it's near your profile picture of your avatar)then, click "Content I Follow"/My Settings/Manage Ignore Prefs"Then, ensure the settings are correct (sometimes weird happens).Hopefully, you will now be able to automatically be informed of replies to any thread in which you've made a comment.(from that point onwards) *note; this 'notification' approach at present, is only guaranteed to work when people use the "quote'/"multiquote" button in forming their reply.so, you will still need to keep a rough track of your webpresence/s,perhaps with 'follow ups' on your week-to-day calendar,or the olde-schule jot down on your weekly priority list etc. good luck, and hopefully this gets you on the right track.you'll be up and collabing with modders in no time. iXenite
If you go to "My Settings" here on the forum side and then navigate to "Notification Options" you should find what you're looking for. Comments made on the "mods" side of the Nexus will give you notifications - but on when on the Nexus Mods site. You wont be notified of comments/replies here on the Forums. A bit vexing. DrakeTheDragon
Additional to the features already proposed, you will also automatically be following (sort of) any topic you posted in here on the forums side. So if you go to "My Content" from your avatar drop-down, you'll be seeing a list of every topic you ever participated in and have it marked as having new unread replies or not.I'm using this one primarily to keep track of topics I posted in and see if anybody responded to me or not. Additional to the already existing features notifying you of direct replies on the file sites or quotes on the forums this will give you yet another way to check for those indirect replies. DrakeTheDragon Is there a way in that location you said to "find" your comment on the subject you made other than just scrolling throw all the comments?? Would be nice if you could just locate yourselfs comments :)
DrakeTheDragon
Oh yeah, there is such a way. If you look at the left side there's a list of selections saying "By content type", with "Only topics" selected by default. If you select "Only posts", you will only see your own posts, and while you can still get to the topic itself, i.e. the opening post, by clicking on the title above your post, if you click on the number, the "#XXXX" on the right, it will go directly to your post.
