GowiHasti
I'd like to make my own smithing perk that allows leather armor to be improved twice as much. I've looked at the other smithing perks but don't see how it distinguishes between what materials to improve twice as much, so I assume thei rmust be another step, can someone tell me what it is? steve40
Is there a value multiplier in the perk entry point, for example? If so, a value of 2.0 would double it.
foamyesque
The perk entry point will have keyword conditions on it, under the item tab, that relate to the materials.

For some reason I didn't even pay attention to the Items tab! Thanks again!
GowiHasti
I need some more help. I got that much working but it doesn't show up in the game. I want it to show up under smith perk tree, how do I do that?
Novem99
You have to do something like in this tutorial:
GowiHasti
Thanks, I prefer plain, easy to read text but viewing that was enough t give me the general idea enough to get it to work.
Anvildude
I was actually running into this exact issue. I wish I'd seen this thread before tearing my hair out about it. Finally found the thing by accident. Quick question to you all, though (and maybe warning, too)- Have any of you had issues with the perks not staying where you put them? I've tried to arrange my new smithing perks all nicely, but every time I load up the game, the constellation is all... squirreled up. Everything's there, and it works, but it's all out of position, making it look terrible.
Novem99
Yes, this can happen if you arrange them in too "extreme positions (e.g. at the extreme edge).
