magicstop Posted May 27, 2008 Share Posted May 27, 2008 Whenever I exit Oblivion, the program crashes and spits me out at the desktop, causing me to have to ctrl+alt+del to end program, etc. Any idea why? I'm not sure I have Shivering Isles in the right spot, or why knights.esp.bak keeps showing up early in my list, when I have knights.esp set for much later. macmert Posted May 27, 2008 Share Posted May 27, 2008 If you are trying to quit to desktop right away and the game crashes or freezes, try this... First of all quit to the main menu, then quit to desktop, I guess it is something to do with memory, so if you first quit to main menu then exit to desktop it should work fine... nosisab Posted May 29, 2008 Share Posted May 29, 2008 This is really a 'feature' of oblivion most need to live with :/And yes, seems to be a memory issue and is not dependent of the RAM amount.you can aways try quiting via console typing qqq and looking if this alleviate the freezing problem. dyfed99 Posted May 29, 2008 Share Posted May 29, 2008 Well, using Fran+Bob+Warcry+OOO+MMM+TT+TIE=FCOM is almost impossible to avoid those CTDs. The same using QTP3 or Bomret pack along with high resolutions lod textures. In my game I'm not allowed to use SaidenStorm's Akatosh due his high velocity.. The game stutters a lot and, finally, crashes. BTW, I'm not using QTP3 and Bomret pack anymore, nor highres lods or FCOM! Just the whole UL mods + OOO and Warcry along with many other 'smaller' mods. But if I summon Akatosh the game will crash. I'll try to reduce its speed and I'll see! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Quoting..Any change to Tamriel cell AnvilMainEntrance (-47,-7) will not cause crashes in-game, but instead will cause Oblivion to crash on exit from the main menu. There may be other cells that also do this. The presence of the CELL record is enough; even if all the refs. are removed the crash will still occur if the CELL record is still present. So far in my game there are: UOP, OOO, Slof's Horses base, Better Cities Full, Anvil Bay Expansion and Better Cities Full - Anvil Bay Expansion which are editing that cell in my game. I'm just removing these with TES4Edit and then I'll test it!But the issue could be related to mods such Real_Lights, UL:Stendarr Valley, Kvatch Rebuilt and not for any editing to that cell but for other issues!
